In my use I removed the included bracket and used the existing mounting bracket in the light can of my ceiling fan lights. If you are replacing an existing socket you would probably reuse that mount rather than the one included. **Q: Are the wires copper? is the insulation thin or thick? enmooti was 18awg but copper tinned? and really thin.** A: I needed 3 replacement sockets for the light fixture on a ceiling fan, so have two remaining for inspection. Copper wire, the ends were NOT tinned. 18 AWG, approximately 10 inches long. 105' C rated insulation. I unscrewed the attachment bracket and reused the fan's original hardware (single Philips screw in the interior base). The wires were appropriately thin and flexible for restoring the internal wire nutted connections higher up in the housing. A perfect repair product at a great price, IMHO. **Q: Is the wire length 12" from the ceramic base or 12" from the threaded mount?** A: For the sockets I received, the length of the wire extends 11 3/8 " from the ceramic base.
