The lid is impossible to takeoff
It should not be so difficult that you have to pry the lid off when you use it I do not recommend this ice cube tray for Freezing herbs or fruits

Great for freezing fresh basil and pesto
Froze cubes of chopped basil in oil and also fresh pesto. When frozen, emptied the cubes in freezer baga to enjoy all winter!

Makes Nice Herb Butter Cubes
With an abundance of garden herbs, I was looking for molds for compound butters. This one fits the bill. The compartments are a generous size--my only criticism would be that they are too large--but really this works as advertised. The unit freezes well and the cubes pop out easily.
