Easier to follow but harder to accomplish than I anticipated.
I really wondered if one could learn enough about yoga from an ebook to make it worthwhile. I am pleasantly surprised. Having gone through this with an eye to determining if I want to give yoga a try, (I am 60 years old), I found the descriptions and instructions easy to follow and overall understanding it all better than I anticipated. At first it seems like a lot to take in, with so many poses described, but following each one is easy enough for anyone to get the idea. The ebook format might be a bit cumbersome as you have to keep flipping pages to do a whole routine, but with a bit of patience I have at least now got a good idea of what "yoga" is really all about. Having said all that, I'd be more inclined now that I've read this and tried the poses a few times, to perhaps join a group or follow some in person instruction. Worth a look for anyone who still hasn't actually tried a yoga class. And yes, I do find it harder than I thought it would be ...

Yoga: A Man's Guide
I really enjoyed the first section very much. I thought the written instructions were clear enough, and the photos were helpful. Then, the remainder of the book had additional poses, with text, but no photos. Here, I got lost.

Great book for beginners!
I'm a 51 year old guy who wants to use yoga as a way to get limber and lose weight. My wife practices yoga so I have very little knowledge of Yoga only opinions...until now! I liked how simple the book is laid out. It's a very easy read and the photos make working through the poses a lot easier. I liked the history part of the book as it explained that it is really men who developed and practiced yoga. I like the idea of a 30 day program. It's genius! What the book has really taught me more than anything else is that I decide how much I'm going to push myself and I'm the one responsible if I make progress. It's been good. I recommend this book to any beginner or anyone who is curious about yoga.

A very nice guide to Yoga.
Good book, albeit very basic. I practice hot yoga 5 to 6 days a week and many of these poses I do in my daily practice. In this book its suggested to do a pose a day, where anyone who practices yoga with some frequency, might do all of these poses in one sitting. However the book is fantastic for the beginner who is looking to learn more about each pose. That's why I got the book and that's why I still refer to it. It teaches me more about each basic pose that I might not have heard from my teachers. Its a nice go to book for a guys perspective on yoga poses.I'd recommend this book for anyone with an interest in Yoga. Namaste!

Very well written
This new book by Olivia Summers has heaps of great information for men who want to get the most they can from yoga. It is well written and is at just the right level for what it promises in the title. Worked for me.... Jake

it is mired in bad, or no editing
I recently bought this book, and while helpful I couldn't help but feel as if I was being talked to as a three year old. Of course I am going to get out of it what I want, however I wish the author would have spent an extra day proof-reading before printing. For what little assistance there is; it is mired in bad, or no editing, and I am speaking of things that change meaning... For example"The reason for this is because when you throw your body right into static stretching before your muscles have had a chance to catch up and get pliable, you actually reduce the effectiveness of more dynamic movements and REDUCE the risk of injury".I'm quite certain she meant increase the risk of injury which entirely changes the meaning. This is one of many, and while some may say you're being over harsh on your analysis, I feel that if I'm spending money to buy a book from you that you can have the respect for your audience to edit it. It's very distracting to read something you're trying to learn when it's poorly written.

but this is still a good read and a great help for yoga beginners
The book was smaller than I expected, but this is still a good read and a great help for yoga beginners.

Pictures don’t match what is written
Pictures do not match what is written. For a book that advertises ‘with pictures!’ on the back cover, it should probably try to make those pictures match with what the written instructions say. Concept of book is good, ie learn a pose a day, but it really detracts from the whole thing when you have spelling mistakes and your visual guide doesn’t match your instruction.

Excellent book from a certified yoga instructor.
Olivia Summers is a certified yoga instructor who has been practicing for more than 15 years. She shares her passion with students and readers and remains motivated to continue teaching and writing on the topics of yoga and well-being.I have very limited knowledge of Yoga but I enjoyed the simplicity in this 95 page/30 yoga poses book. Filled with excellent instructions and beautiful color photos this publication has simple well laid directions and lays forth a 30 day program to follow. This well-written new book by talented author Ms Summers is a must have for the bookshelves of yoga practitioners and teachers. The writing is clear and simple - easy to understand with just enough information to inspire novices. It has lots of information for men who want to benefit from learning more about yoga.Buy it, read it, share it, gift it, enjoy.Recommended.
