Homestead Essentials Cedar Bluebird House

Extreamly well built, very easy to install and designed well for the birds. So many bird housed have the hole so close to the bottom the allow predators to get to the nesting chick's. Others are designed to be difficult to clean or put up on a tree, house or other post. This is well built, well designed and easy to maintain.

This is a well build bird house which was easy to put together. My 10 year old grandson had it together in a flash and it is already welcoming a set of bluebirds.

All cedar construction. Well designed and made. Bluebirds took right to it and are sitting on eggs now.

Birdhouse looks nice and is well made. The roof portion, however, is not cedar. It looks like a pine and is painted black. The remainder of the birdhouse is unfinished cedar.The manufacturing packaging could use some more thought. The way the roof slants and the item is put into a square box, leaves no support for the overhanging portion of the rood. The roof portion is kind of beveled and one of the bevel portion is right at the front wall of the house. If the box is dropped or falls on the correct side, there is a chance of the box being bent/smashed and the overhang portion being broken off. This is what happened with this order.I repaired this damage by gluing the broken portion onto the original spot where it came from. This has solved the issue. If the box was in another box with other things it would probably be much better.So, happy with the birdhouse (after the roof was glued back together) but think the packaging could be better. Probably a manufacturer issue as the seller shipped it in the packaging as made by the manufacturer.
