It’s not a detector. This is the brick that charges metal lines or materials. The see snake has its own transmitter.

Could I use this tool to trace underground electrical circuits through conduit?

Yes! This is exactly what it is designed to do. The depth of detection is dependent on the distance from the transmitter source, saturation, composition of the soil and the type of conduit, etc. Good luck!

I need a locator to find pvc waterlines indoor and outdoor. Will this work?

You can but need to open the line and run a fish tape and connect to the fish tape to light the line
