A: 3000 is definitely better.

**Q: Can i use this to find a bad wire anywhere in a car?**
A: Yes, by segmenting the location,  there is a book that comes with the unit

**Q: Does this work with the power probe iv? manual just lists the ect2000.**
A: It works just like the old 2000 model . It is the same, but in a new cover.   It only looks different  because it the new style..

**Q: Can this be used to find an open circuit in a home?**
A: No it use to T/S 12vdc circuits!!
