The first two were different models costing 2-3X more than this one. I use the cutter on a daily basis in my business so they do take some use and abuse. First cutter I had I paid $$$ for it... lasted about 5 years... second cutter I had I paid $$ for it and lasted just over 6 months and manufacturer refused to replace or even fix it. I purchased this RoMech because I needed a replacement. I didn't expect much since it was so much cheaper than the other two models...but so far it has far exceeded my expectations... very very happy.
