It did come out of the box with some charge but I did as the instructions said and charged this completely and it went right to work. I don't know how long it took to fully charge but seemed like no time. It gives me the security to know my battery wont run out and I can bump it up an extra liter and not feel like I have to be "saving" with the battery. I needed that for flying. Also when the power goes out I know I will have oxygen and not have to worry. Yes it was expensive but to know I was getting the Inogen brand and not an off brand was worth it. When I can breathe easier because I know I will have oxygen even with no power, priceless. (when I got one of these they stop giving me the oxygen tanks)

This was a blessing to have on vacation. We bought it not only for the airline requirement of extra batteries for duration of the flight, but was great to have during our daughter's wedding and reception. Apria messed up and gave us a new Innogen (that obviously hadn't been tested for the ability to charge) the day before our trip and we didn't check it first just started off using the new unit, but found out in Wyoming they gave us one that would not charge at all. Thank God we purchased this battery or my husband would have had to use 0² tanks the whole 2 week trip. Definitely worth the price from just one trip away from home!

This battery gives a huge capacity boost to the included battery pack. It charges just like the original one, by plugging the charger into the portable oxygen concentrator. To make life a bit easier, there is a separate charger which is a small unit that clips into the battery when it is out of the concentrator, and the charging cord plugs into that. That way, you can charge one battery while the other is in use. My only complaint is that they SEVERELY overcharge for this battery compared to similar capacity batteries for non medical devices it is 4-5x the cost.... (But what you gonna do, the battery connection is proprietary, so you have to buy from them)

...I'm not getting as much time on this battery as I thought I would get. I have my G5 on the three-liter per hour setting; a full charge lasts me roughly five-hours. Frankly, it's giving me about as much time as the original battery does and the original is better than five years old. I only use the G5 when I'm out and about; I have a floor unit for when I'm at home. I don't go out frequently, but I do like knowing I have those five hours, should I need them. Please be aware that this battery will cause the G5 to weigh twelve pounds; that's a bit of weight to carry around with you and takes some getting used to. On the up side, it's very easy to charge (just plug the entire G5 into the charging station that came with it to do so). Overall, I highly recommend it. It beats the alternative! :)

Works great but the the unit is broke and we’re gonna need a new unit

What we needed

I like the double battery as it gives a longer time using my portable oxygen machine. Saves having to take tanks with me. A very valuable piece of equipment!

The product has a 2023 -5 production date, it is still new but older stock. The question of warranty might arise if battery fails and production date is used not date of purchase. Arrived when it was scheduled. It also works fine.
