Right tool for the job plus three hints to make the job easier.
I used the tool to service my Kenmore branded (LG manufactured) front loader. A year ago, I serviced another part on the machine that required removing the door boot. I made a contraption to remove the inner/outer springs - it worked, but was a PITA and probably added an hour of labor (thinking it up, fabricating it, then making several attempts get it to work). Well, the boot went last week and I was not going through that again! Buy it - it's a well-made tool and ten bucks well spent. [Hint 1. There are notches near the tip that help grab the spring's wire. They are not close enough to the tip. I took my Dremel cutting wheel and put in two light notches about an eight inch from the tip - worked fantastic! Hint 2. Remove the counterweights! It's very fast and makes rear spring installation way easier. Hint 3. Use a little liquid laundry detergent to lubricate the boot lip and the rim of the sheet metal where the boot installs (CAREFUL - sharp edges). It makes boot installation and adjustment much easier.]

Definitely needed tool for repairs on washers!
I can repair washers but, absolutely have to have these pliers to reinstall spring clip! Makes it VERY easy to replace spring clip

Will not help for reinstallation.
Diy tool was good. Groves on the ends would be better as well as a wider jaw opening to help for installing.

flawless
annoyed when i cleaned my front loader that i felt i needed this but after countless failed attempts i said screw it send the tool. once i had it, first try, ring installed. this isn't a everyone needs item BUT if you're a diy/care for your products this is a nice have for front loaders. i just leave it next to the washer on the ground. it'll only ever be used there

Did exactly what I needed it to do to get our kenmore front loader washer springs off to replace the boot gasket. No need for the expensive one.

Perfect tool
Exactly what was needed first time I tried without this plier and it took me at least 1 hour to install the ring. With this it took 2 min im happy I got this.
