All in all I'm happy with the product, and I can't complain for $20. If you need to connect to an HDMI, this will do the job and the picture quality is good. I've used 2 of these and have had them occasionally cut out--I never quite figured out what caused it, whether it was overheating, my system was causing problems, or if it was something else.Just to be clear, no adapter is going to be able to increase the native resolution of the Wii. Either this adapter or a set of Wii component digital (RRYGB) will let you output in 720P from a classic Wii. Some TV's have higher quality on-board upscaling for HDMI or component cables, this may depend on how nice a TV you have.

I almost gave this a 1 star because I tested it on 2 monitors and a Playstation 3D TV and the picture quality looked awful compared to component cables. The colors looked washed out and dark in some areas of the game (RE4) and worse the EDTV format wasn't working well with either the monitors or the PS3DTV. The picture had borders all around no matter whether I set the picture to overscan. Then finally for the hell of it I tried it on my Samsung 4K UHD and boy was I blown away, I thought for sure the picture quality was going to be worst but for some odd weird reason it actually looked better. Best of all, no borders! It displayed the picture to fit the screen.

I can’t say enough good about it this was the best investment ever! And the icing on the cake is it was under $10! I bought one similar from eBay it wasn’t worth it at all ironically they showed up on the same day and needless to say I’m sending the eBay one back and keeping my Amazon I would recommend this to anyone with a Wii that wants to use it with HDMI! Ordered it with one day shipping (God bless Amazon Prime!!), and within seconds of receiving it, I had the Wii hooked up, and ready to go. Installation is extremely easy. Simply unplug the cables that the Wii came with, pop this in there instead, plug one end of your HDMI cable into it, and then plug the other end of the HDMI cable into your TV. We needed this because we just got a 65" Samsung 4K Ultra HD TV; the RCA cables simply fell out each time we tried to plug them in. I'll be contacting Samsung on that issue, however, it's not a big deal right now, as we now have this! THANK YOU to the makers of this, as you saved my sanity (or what's left of it; haha!). A side note; the picture is absolutely beautiful. Wish I'd purchased this a long time ago.

I needed to connect an old WII to a new TV. Many new TVs did away with the composite inputs. I was able to hook the WII to a new TV without any issues. I ended up getting a projector and it's great to play the WII on a 70" screen.

I upgraded to an HDTV that did not support the wii's RCA cable outputs, so I bought this device and have had no issues whatsoever with it. I even used it with a game capture device to record some footage off of my Wii without issue. Heck, when the HDMI port on my Wii U died mysteriously, I plugged this into it's RCA connector on back, fiddled with the video settings, and was back up and running without the need for a costly repair! So, this little device has performed admirably

I purchased this for my daughters WII in her room as the component cables for some reason stopped working. I was a bit skeptical because of the price and some of the reviews but it did deliver exactly what I was looking for. First off the AUDIO was great out of the HDMI cable as was the video which looked even better than the original component Nintendo branded cables. Pretty much I would say just buy this to replace the component cables and you will get better video and audio. It will not give you 1080p or 5.1 surround sound because of the age of the WII system that does not support it but it will look and sound better than the original technology cables.

We never used the wii much and when we did it would occasionally blue screen both my TVs. It sat in a box for several years and over christmas break my kids started playing the snot out of super smash bros melee on the gamecube (which works just fine on both tv's with component video cables). So took out the wii and tried setiing it up, constant blue screens. As a last ditch ordered this to test out. Plugged it in tonight and everything so far has been working without a single blue screen. The TV I'm using plays way too loudly even on '1' so I took out a pair of small usb powered speakers and hooked those into the converter.
