An Excellent Time Sink
For someone with plenty of free time, Pokemon games are top notch. Pokemon Crystal is no exception; just make sure you have a Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advanced. Though the game can be "beaten" within a week or two of solid work, the open-ended world of Johto and Kanto has plenty more to do and see. I've currently put around 100 hours into the game thus far, and there's still a lot left to do! The two new Pokemon types, Dark and Steel, add some much-needed balance to the game (both of the new types are good against the previously-god-like Psychic, and Ghost moves now work properly against Psychic as well). Also, many of the new moves added create much more depth to the strategy of the game in general. Baton Pass, for example, can allow you to move stat-enhancing effects to other Pokemon in your team, allowing for countless team combinations. The new Pokemon breeding system also allows for much more diversity in a Pokemon's available moves, and makes using the one-time-use TM items not as much of a risk; if used on a male Pokemon, it can be passed down to any offspring of said Pokemon. All in all, I'd say that Pokemon Crystal improves on many of the problems from the original generation of Pokemon games (Pokemon - Red Version, Pokemon - Blue Version, and Pokemon, Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition). Compared to the other Pokemon games of THIS generation (Pokemon Gold Version and Pokemon, Silver Version), Pokemon Crystal allows the player to select between a Male or Female character, has improved color, and allows access to BOTH of the ultra-legendary Pokemon (Lugia and Ho-Oh). If you're looking for a hand-held game to keep you occupied for a long time, try picking up a used copy of Pokemon Crystal!

Pokémon Crystal: THE BEST OUT OF THE THREE!
I like Pokémon Gold & Silver a lot but Pokemon Crystal is the winner! The things I really like about the Crystal version is that there are some nice bonus features added like1. Buena's Password and you get a blue card and when you listen to her station it plays a catchy tune and she tells you the password of the day when you tune in and you get points! Then you cash in those points for some cool items. (Which was not introduced in Gold & Silver)2. There are more cool Pokémon available to catch in the Crystal version.3. When you check your Pokémon's stats your Pokémon's sprites move which is pretty cool unlike Pokemon Red through Silver the Pokémon don't move.4. The game cartridge is transparent which means it's see through and you can look inside through the game cartridge and see all the little chips, electronics, and the save battery which I think is pretty neat.5. You can choose to play as a boy or a girl in the game which is awesome. As a matter in fact I chose to play as a girl and named her Crystal. I think it's cooler to play as a girl because it sets apart from only playing as a boy in Pokémon Red through Silver. The only downfall to the Crystal version is that the cloning trick doesn't seem to work in Crystal like in Gold & Silver but I still give it 5 stars because of all the cool features added that Gold & Silver didn't have.If you are looking for a great game with more cool features added get the Crystal version!

DOES NOT SAVE!!!
Very disappointing. I ordered this game a little over a month ago from Sosa Games confident that it would be a good product. I bought a Game Boy Color from them several months ago that works great...The problem with the Pokemon Crystal from them is that it does not save. When I first started up the game, the word "Nintendo" was jumbled at the bottom of the Game Boy logo when you start up the game and it wouldn't progress past that screen. After turning it on and off a few times, everything started working normally (much to my relief). I played for an hour and saved several times. The next day, I go to play again, and I can only start a new game. Very, very disappointing. I did start a new game and saved immediately when I could to see if the save would hold, and it did. But then I tried restarting it again, and it my game was gone again. The biggest disappointment for me is that I (stupidly) waited about a month and a half before trying the game, so the return window is closed and got stuck paying $50 for a game that doesn't save.

Dead battery
Came in excellent condition and I really wish I could give it 5 but the battery does not work so I have to get it replaced in order to even play it so I can actually save
