I decided to spend a little extra and buy from Amazon. I trusted that the LSI 9220 card would be fine and I didn't get around to doing the NAS build until now, a year later. The card is completely dead, tried it in multiple motherboards while issuing the "megarec -adplist" command from a DOS boot. My bad for not trying the card right when I bought it. Lesson learned and I will never let this happen again. I have a $140 paperweight. This is the first bad controller that I have in almost 20 years of online purchases. Experience-wise, I have about 150TB managed on a few LSI 9266/9270 cards with Chenbro SAS Expanders, in Windows and ESXi - never even one issue with that LSI/Chenbro hardware.
