It works because I could pair it with a decent tripod!
Having the ability to sight in my gear after traveling is essential for a successful hunt. I have been looking for a portable solution and a good rest atop a rock-solid tripod is a winning combination. The problem is that as a woman and a professional photographer it was obvious that companies that make that kind of gear are selling junk tripods, which made their offerings pointless. Yep, it is the 21st Century guys and we know gear too! In the past I made do and was never pleased. So, two days ago I put together the correct combination of words and uncovered this product, ordered it, and when it arrived today I immediately tried it out. It is steady atop my studio tripod and my carbon fiber one as well. In fact, if they made a hefty one similar in weight to a bench model my tripods could easily handle it and I could sight in my .50 caliber black powder that was my brothers. The tripods are Manfrotto and cost about $300, which is nothing compared to the cost of hunting gear, ammo, and guns.

These work well for some rifles but not for Crossbows. Great for field use.
I purchased these for use on Crossbows when I am not in the shop. They did not work well for that based on size of holders. When I am working on small gauge long guns these work well.

Felt better than expected
I honestly expected this to feel far weaker than it was. It's nice and light which makes me consider it even more for my gen 3 tripod going into the field. It's a perfect attachment if you do groundblind hunting or have spots on the ground you sit. I wish I didn't have to devise a tether to sling over the yokes and secure the muzzleloader or something, but for what it is, I'm far more than satisfied.

Found to be alittle flimsy
Found it to be alittle flimsy holding my rifle but what it is it is I’ll know more from the range

Gives needed support for rifle in the field.
For its price it performs well. It is light and quick to use in the field when attached to Primos tripod. Use this mostly in brushy country where a prone shot is not possible. Definitely better than shooting off hand. Older hunters will appreciate its ability to steady a rifle.

Exactly what I needed!
After purchasing a Caldwell Dead Shot shooting tripod and using it a few times I realized I needed more heighth. The Caldwell may be fine for shorter people but I'm 6' 5" and got tired of having to scrunch down to see through my scope while sitting in a camp chair shooting sage rats.So after looking I found the Primos two point rest and put it on my Vortex tripod which adjusts up to 6' high. So if you already have a tripod this will more than likely fit and the price is right too.

awesome
I put this on my GEN three trigger stick and it is awesome! I heard a lot of people complaining that it’s not! I do not get it! I guess it was there 26 pound Rifles As I mentioned. I have an 8 pound muzzleloader and it is great very sturdy! And a good price. I am very happy with it I believe it is just awesome I also have a bog death grip at 9 pounds wow what a bummer but it is awful sturdy and very awesome alsoBut I can carry this GEN three with my two-point rest much further . Anyways if you don’t have a real heavy weapon I believe it’s awesome and really really great for my crossbow....
