General Foam C5030ac Blow Molded Noel Candle, 40"

I bought this last year as a Christmas decoration and love it. It sits out in front of my home in a suburban neighborhood of Ranch homes on 1/4 acre lots. The Noel Candle Decoration is about 40 feet from the street and I made some modifications to it for better viewing. I attached the Candle to a 3 inch wide 6 foot long stake to elevate it above the ground and used 2 cable ties to attach the Candle to the stake. I made 4 small holes in the rear top area just below the flame of the Candle. With scissors consisting of 2 sets of two holes each one inch apart. Then I threaded 2 zip ties through each set of two holes and fastened them to the stake and tightened enough to keep them in place. I screwed a small screw below each zip tie into the wood stake partially into the wood just enough to keep the screw in place but not all the way through the wood. The 2 screws will keep the zip ties from sliding down the stake making the candle stay in place where you put it on the stake.This works to keep the Candle in place and prevents the Candle from falling down even in high winds as the stake is planted a good 2 feet into the ground. It also elevates the candle above the Ground about 1-2 feet so it is better seen from the street and not buried in a snowstorm.I used an 18 watt Cree LED bulb that produces almost no heat and gives off 1600 Lumens of light. I feel that you really need about 1500 to 2000 lumens of light from the bulb to make it look like a real Candle and pop. You can not get that kind of light from an old fashioned light bulb because the heat will melt the decoration. So I used an LED which only used 18 watts of power to produce 1600 lumens. It makes a great light at night and looks attractive. The stake and LED Light worked fine where I lived in heavy rain, winds up to 40mph and deep snow and temperatures that went down to zero F on several nights. The Candle stayed put and lit during all of these bad weather events and never went out.

Okay this is the 3rd attempt so excuse the brevity. Glad I got them, have wanted for years, should have bought them at Walmart years ago for less than $10 each. I have an Empire Santa Face I purchased in 1992 {29 years ago, displayed every Christmas} (which I will picture as well) and you can really see the difference in craftsmanship. Back when blow molds were the traditional outdoor Christmas decorations they were made to last. These appear very cheap. When I opened them today, I was disheartened to see a (yes SMALL) dent at the base. When I tried to think of a way to simply manipulate it out, I discovered that the plastic in that area is almost paper thin, a pretty important area concidering it is the base of the structure. I know these were not "new" but "like new"... I was surprised to see they came with the General Foam Plastics tag. I wanted to rate these ⭐️⭐️ for quality, but I don't think people passing by care about that. If you are looking for the quality of the original nostalgic blow molds... you will probably have to pay for "vintage"... Ohh, just using that word reminds me, I'm OLD! LoL

I would recommend this product. I bought 2 to put on my front porch and I am very pleased with the outcome . I used sand to pour into the bottom to weigh the candles down and then I used a 60 watt bulb as recommended and they both are bright and look great among the other lights and decor . what can I say, very satisfied. MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

Nothing more than spray painted white plastic. The paint is scraped off in several places from nothing more than being inside the box. It's horribly painted see the pictures. Paint is coming off on my hands just touching it. Very sad these are NOT the old time Christmas decorations our grandma's used to have.. :( sadness. I ordered two, one doesn't even sit flat on the floor it falls over.

This blow mold candle is a great Christmas decoration. It looks great on my front steps. But one thing to note is it's very light and can be easily blown over in the wind. The directions say to add sand or rocks to help prevent it from falling. I put small rocks in the base. It holds up well in moderate winds, but in extreme winds or sudden gusts, it still can be knocked over, and that sometimes can damage the lightbulb socket.

My neighbors had a similar set of these candles decades ago. I have wanted some since then. Received item intact and works well with the correct bulb. They are lightweight so we have a plan for how to display them. Happy with our purchase.

I recently purchased an antique blow mold candle. I really wanted a pair. I was thrilled to see new ones were sold on Amazon! I took a chance and ordered one hoping it would look similar enough. It looks very similar! I am very happy with my purchase and I now have the pair of candles I wanted.
