Dupli-Color Multi-Purpose Sandable Primer, White, 12 oz

As far as spraycans go, this works hand in hand with Dupli-Color base coat sprays and touchup paints. Put this down first to get a solid layer to put base coat on and then top the base coat with some sort of clear coat. Be careful with this on overspray as it WILL stick well as primers should. Nice color match and quick coverage with base coat after.

Duplicolor goes on fine so if you are a heavy-handed sprayer, this will take some getting used to. Because it goes on fine you have so much more control. I find the cans to be slightly temperamental with regard to what angle you hold them at, which can be frustrating. They prefer to be held level (most cans do). Really high end paint, works on plastic, make sure your surface is very clean and "open" i.e. are to accept a primer or other substance. If you are working with a very smooth and shiny surface, fine sanding before application may improve your end result.

Good sandable primer, dries family quickly and has good adhesion. Paint thickness and coverage is fair but not spectacular. It's durable and a fair price compared to other primers. Overall a good performer.

I like to build scale model cars. In every build there comes a point where you paint your car. A good primer is the first step toward a good paint job. The Dupli-Color Sandable Primer is made for full-size cars but is excellent on scale models as well. It fills in previous sanding marks and then is sandable itself. Tamiya primer is considered by many to be the standard of the industry, but it only comes in a 6 oz. can at an average price of $12. The Dupli-Color Sandable Primer comes in a 12 oz. can and is $10.99. Twice as much for a dollar less. Sounds like win -- win to me.

Friends: This white primer is mandantory for a white color coat........ The spray nozzle is more than just another spray can nozzle and can be adjusted. For areas under two square feet you can do as professional looking job as a body shop with a big air compressor and expensive paint gun. Maybe even better for smaller areas. I have restore to almost " Like New " condition my twenty year old 1996 Ford F350 XLT Powerstroke Diesel pickup truce with four doors and four wheel drive that I bought new in 1996. I intend to enter my truck in the July 4th car show in our Village. After twenty years of use the truck had small dings and scratches here and there especially on the tailgate which is used for everything from a bench to sit on to extending the bed of the truck for firewood and lumber.
