How big are these maracas?

I have several and they vary but they are big (about 9 inches long) and several inches in diameter at the widest part (2-4 inches).

So they are filled wih metallic pieces. Not natural seeds?

Seeds alone aren't going to give you a nice sound. I didn't know it had metallic pieces in it. I'm not going to open it up. But it's loud enough hitting the sides.
