Goat Tuff- Very Accurate, Easy to Use and Clean- Fletching Jig
I purchased this High Quality Fletching Jig originally last Year, I fletched 4 dozen Crossbow Bolts (20" and 22"), I had a lesser jig that was a PITA to keep clean and keep my High End Vanes accurately at 120 degrees apart. I had seen a fellow bow hunter use another - Much more expensive- Jig with the same results. Being an "Heirloom Quality" Custom Woodworker for 38+ years I knew that a better jig had to be out there in the "Masses of Crossbow accessories", I read the reviews about this "Goat Tuff" Jig and after looking at pictures and directions, I thought it was the best thought out design and ordered the 1st one. I recently made a "Spline Indexing Jig", since I wasn't very pleased with the grouping of my newly built bolts (Golt Tip Nitro and GT Ballistic Pro)- I received the dozen bare shafts (GT Nitro's) and couldn't find all my Fletching Jig parts- It works so well and super easy to clean, I wasn't going to try another style, SO- I ordered another "Goat Tuff"- I thank everyone who wrote the reviews I read, all who put pictures online, and to Amazon for keeping such a well made and cost effective necessary tool for all of us "Backwoodsmen" who build our own Bolts and Arrows

Good jig but not quite the best!
There is a lot that I like about the jig. Sits flat so you don't have a big glue mess. Slots are built in to change the length between your nock and vanes. Comes with the attachment to do 3 or 4 vanes per arrow. Very simple to use and is a big time saver. It comes with the guides to do different helical degrees. There is just one drawback. You have to be very careful when using it because the guide will swivel on your nock throwing one vane off from the others. Overall, it's a very good jig. Trust me, I have used others. My last one about had me pulling out hair if I had any! Trying to get your glue and fingers in a very tight space and making a total mess! And it was very hard to clean! This one however, is very simple and easy to clean. I had 6 arrows done in no time.

Different spin on an old idea, but it doesnt work.
Avid archer for 40 years. Fletched many arrows. My main jig is a Blitzenburger, but I wanted something to put in my tool box for the range or hunting trips. About the only good thing I can say about this jig is that it fit in my tool box. Pros...None. Cons...The arrow indexer that allows you to fletch at equal spacing, 3 at 120 degrees, does not work. It will get the vanes close, but there is too much wiggle room, if you dont physically hold it in place the vanes will not be spaced evenly around the arrow. ANd even if you do hold it in place, the vanes will still not be evenly spaced. The indexer also plays a part in the spacing of the vanes from the nock to the distance you place them. Again if you dont physically hold it in place, the spacing will be all over the place. The two plastic clothes pin like things that are supposed to hold the arrow in place as the adhesive sets are a joke. Constantly flying off, causing the arrow to roll away from the vane nest, & the springs inside them wont stay in place. The arrow indexer will not align with your cock vane. No matter how you place the indexer, the one different colored vane will not line up with the nock unless you twist the nock manually. It is impossible, and believe me I tried, to fletch only one vane if an arrow has only one damaged. Sometimes you will have an arrow that has only one vane damaged. With my Blitz, or other jigs, you can replace the damaged vane, and it will align with the other two that are left. Not this one. The indexer is a very poor design. It will not allow you to replace just one vane and have it perfectly spaced from the others. I have had this jig for several years. Tried to make it work on several occasions. It just doesnt. Waste of money. One of, if not the worst jigs I have ever used. Take my advice, coming from someone who has fletched hundreds if not thousands of arrows, it just doesnt work.

Perfect !!
The best jig I've used, simple, easy to use and works perfectly...even the 3 degree makes full contact. Seemed pricey for a few plastic parts but after use is worth every penny and it should last forever cause there are no wear parts

Works Great
Great little jig to fletch or repair a fletch (yes, yes, I know you should always replace all three or four....blah blah). works great. I recommend you put a little string wax on the jig itself, this will prevent the superglue you're using from attaching the vane to the jig. Plus you know you have a ton of string wax in that tube you're not using. Also put string wax on the threads of your points and broadheads. Helps keep them from getting seized in the insert.

Good idea, needs refining
Works, most of the time. Have run into issues using this jig with wraps and some vanes with smaller surface area adhesion. Even with minute amounts of glue and using string wax on the vane guide, spill over occured and ended up gluing itself to the vanes. More of an issue with smaller diameter shafts where the spring loaded clams do not have enough pressure to search the vane flush on the shaft, had to push down by hand which isnt ideal and contributed to vane adhesion to the system rather than the shaft.

Nice simple built and simple to use
Simple easy design and configuration also simple to use. However I will complain about it is simply made of plastic and is a bit overpriced. If this fletching jig was made of aluminum steel hell even pot metal I would have no objection to the price.

Works great for the price
This is a fast and easy fletching jig for the price. Not as accurate as the more expensive jigs, but it is more compact and easy to use. My only complaint is that you can only do right helical. Goat Tuff, if you're listening, you should make the inserts two sided so they can be flipped over to do left helical. That's free advise, but you have to send me a set of you end up making them.
