Delivers as promised!
I was somewhat skeptical about this product for the price point but it delivers! That fabric could be softer but the mesh is easier to clean and dries pretty fast. The back is so easy to change positions with one hand, just as stated. I like that I can sit my granddaughter completely up for the majority of her bath and with one quick easy motion put her in a full recline position to wash her hair or roll her over to wash her back. I called the company to see if the chair could be mostly submerged sitting directly on the tub floor. The company returned my call very quickly and a very nice man answered my questions. Yes!!! So I fill the tub up to almost cover her legs. You have to try different things to find what's best for you but all in all after several baths we have a little system that works for us pretty well. The straps and lateral head support are adequate. Head supports are hard plastic but as another reviewer stated you can use a wash cloth on each side if that is problematic for you. We were torn between getting the small or medium size as our granddaughter is pretty close to the top range of the small size. For the price we decided to get the one that fits her now. So we got the small and are glad we did. It will still fit her for quite some time. I can not speak of the longevity of the product yet as we haven't had it that long, but for $150 some dollars if I get a year out of it I will be happy. Nice product and happy we could purchase through smile.amazon.com to support our charity, Families for HoPE.

Safety
This has been great for our daughter. I’m not sure what the difference is but with this one when we sit her up to wash her back, it is so much easier.

Size is alright. I’m satisfied, despite initial difficulties and limitations.
For reference, this product is being used for myself. I am a 5ft. 6in. and 150lb. male young adult. Recently, I had been struggling with some incidents of lightheadedness, fatigue, and elevated heart rate, from which I’ve collapsed or nearly collapsed four times in the last two months. My cardiologist and I are working to diagnose what is causing these symptoms. Now, while I am autistic and do love my baths, I have recognized that I do not always have the time to do so, with me being a university student. However, with me taking a shower becoming risky at best, I was looking for something that could make both baths and showers safer for me. Something I could strap myself into was ideal. And then I found the Otter. Admittedly, it isn’t perfect, although I point more of the blame not to the Otter but to my dorm environment. Unfortunately, the straps for the chest are too short, but purchasing a third-party Velcro strap will easily resolve this. However, the leg straps fit perfectly and will suffice for now for safety purposes until I can get an appropriate length of strap for the chest. Recline angles are good, although the lowest height setting leaves something to be desired. However, I’m not too disappointed, as my back gets to quite comfortably soak in the tub. All in all, I anticipate that this will be more optimal for showers than baths, but I still do feel that it is pretty decent for both scenarios, given and taking into account the limitations that are present here in student housing. Therefore, I’m giving four stars out of five, as it’ll work much better once I have my own place.

Life is hard enough...
If you're reading this we have something in common - looking after a complicated person. The last thing we need is more complications. I took Drive at their word that the 'seat fabric may be slipped off' since I was buying the soft fabric option to suit my son and would need to swap off the originally supplied fabric. Imagine my frustration to find that 'slipping off' requires a screwdriver and even worse the screw heads are so soft that they seem to be stripping under the force required to unscrew them. No instructions are supplied about removing the fabric, so I checked with Drive to see if I was missing something. Abraham Goldstein, Executive Vice President Wenzelite Division didn't seem in the least concerned about this misleading statement or unnecessarily complicated process. Really! If you're in the business of supplying items for people with disabilities, I would hope for two things: 1) you try to make things as simple as possible; and 2) that you care. I got neither. So my harsh rating is for the complicated process, Mr. Goldstein's attitude and the misleading marketing. I actually like the product aside from the hassle of removing the fabric. I wish they would offer a straight forward option of buying with either fabric rather than supplying with one and you have to add the soft fabric as a costly option. What am I going to do with the original fabric? Once that's swapped over, this shower system is the only thing that really works for my son. But I'm not likely to ever wash the fabric - I fear the screws will fall apart if I have to remove them again.

Great seat! Highly recommend!
Works great for my daughter who has rett syndome. Easily reclines for relaxing and also swiftly switches to an upright position even while she's in it. Recommend it to anyone with a child with special needs as it's easier on you physically and mentally knowing they are safe and you're not putting so much strain on your own body as well! If you're looking into this chair buy it here, we first were going through a company with her school and they wanted $380 for the exact same chair. This is a great price and product!

Excellent Bathing Chair
I bought the medium size for my 3.5 years old son who has special needs and unable to sit up yet. The bathing chair can be tilted both ends which made it easy to adjust the most comfortable sitting position. The headrest is also adjustable height with Velcro straps. I would recommend to get the Otter bathtub stands which sold separately. The bathtub stand elevates the bathing chair to regular chair height which makes it comfortable for caretaker to shower the child. Since the chair and bathtub stand can be collapsed flat, I find it convenient to bring along for travel in the car trunk. The mesh dries pretty quickly too. This product is lifesaver.
