Andis 29775 Headliner T-Blade 11-Piece Haircutting/Trimmer Kit, Black

I've long known that if you want a really smooth shave, there isn't just one device that will do the job. Several years ago when I was in college I finally figured out the secret, especially if you have curly facial hair. I figured out that I needed a combination, an excellent pair of clippers and then an electric shaver to do the rest. I researched back then and came to the conclusion that Andis was the best option. I’ve had this particular set for two years, but I’ve been using these types of clippers for about 7 years. These work great for beard trimming and getting a nice smooth shave on your face. Its also great for doing your neck area. I recommend a dry shave and while these clippers alone will get you really close they won’t be enough. To truly finish off you perfect shave, you have to pair this with a nice electric razor. It really doesn’t matter whether you go with rotary or foil, it’s really preference. For years I had a $50 Rotary Noreleco but recently I bit the bullet and bought one of the nicer Braun’s, series 5. Once you got things as smooth as you can with the clippers, bring in the electric shaver to do the clean up duty. When you follow these clippers with an electric shaver on your face and neck, there’s no beating it. It will also help cut down on Razor bumps. I usually follow the whole process by going over my face and neck with Tendskin to help avoid razor bumps and then thoroughly moisturize. From there you can usually, touch your face up with just the electric for a few days and then go in with the clippers and shaver combo once or twice a week depending. These clippers are fairly quiet and quite light. The blade starts off really sharp and with regular use should last about 2 to 2 and a half years. After that you can look for replacement blades and just swap them out but I’m usually looking for the next great pair of clippers by that point so its on you if you want to upgrade or just put in new blades. I highly recommend these clippers and pretty much the entire Andis line.

MYSELF: * I am caucasian and have dark straight thin (width) hair. * My hair is no longer as thick (quantity) as it was. * I have owned many clippers since I started cutting my hair myself about 14 years ago. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE CLIPPER: * I used the clipper without any guards 3 times on my hair and around 10 times on my beard before writing this review. MY EVALUATION: * Cuts hair extremely short. It's been a while since I had such a nice clean short cut. In fact, I decided to use the clipper for my beard instead of shaving as it gives a nice 5 o'clock shadow. * Cuts very well. * No problem with overheating. * Small in hand, ergonomic. Feels good. OVERALL * I have owned more expensive clippers that did not perform as well. I am very satisfied with the product so far. Definitely recommend it. I will no longer buy hair clippers at the local store: these are more expensive and lesser quality. EDIT: 3 years later (aug 2014) I still use this clipper regularly. It's as good and I'm as satisfied as the day I first used it. No cuts to my face and a fairly close shave. I'm a very satisfied customer.

I am in the military Honor Guard, and my wife has to cut my hair 2-3 times a week. We use a combination of the Andis cutter and Wahl Clip-n-Trim to cut my hair into the perfect fade. This clipper gets very close to the skin, and does a great job considering it is not commercial, and is very cheap. I tried using a blade to actually shave my head even closer, and noticed it does make much of a difference because this product already gets close enough. Overall I am very happy with it. My only wish is that it had a better attachment beyond the 1/16 to help in the fade...like a 1/32... that is the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. It makes my wifes job harder in fading my hair because it doesn't have a good intermediary between the 1/16 and just bare blade. Pros: Cheap, reliable, works very well, gets close to the skin Cons: Not good at fading between bare blade and the 1/16. Overall: If someone told me another trimmer did do a better job between the bare blade and 1/16 in assisting with a fade, I would return this product for the other one...but I have yet to find it. For now I will stick with this one, as it does work very well for everything else I need.

I bought these because this is the only brand I have ever seen used by barbers over the years. I'm using these to maintain the shape of my goatee as well as trimming sideburns and haircut hair lines between haircuts. Doing this is allowing me to stay well groomed the entire time between haircuts. These can almost be used to replace razors depending on how sharp you have them set . The clippers sharpness can be adjusted by removing the two screws on the metal plate and adjusting the screw on the inside of the plate. Do not remove the screw on inside of the plate it is only meant to be slightly loosened and then retightened. There are videos online that show you exactly how to preform this Do not let the reviews that complain over the lack of sharpness lead you not to buy these, because all those negative reviewers had to do is adjust the sharpness to their desired likeness. Don't neglect to clean and maintain these properly, there are also videos online that show you exactly how to clean it as well as what is required to clean the clippers.

I am sitting here grinning ear to ear. What a difference from amateur clipper set up to professional. I’m so pumped up this set up is fool proof. My hair is SO tight right now I’ve always complained while getting a haircut where I had to ask over and over to please go over the hair again because I keep seeing random hairs missed. When you use real fine detailed clippers it’s like fur. Great job to my wife Nikki for turning an uncomfortable anxiety filled start to OMG you nailed it. This review is warrants conviction of a perfect cut every time, first one today, I got it today now relaxing and smiling. Grey hair is a bitch to cut there’s always randoms but with a fine small tooth clipper is a done deal. Thank you
