Monoprice 107638 2 Port Internal SATA to eSATA Bracket (107638)

It does what I needed it to do. My new ASUS Z97 Pro motherboard had a big fat zero eSATA ports and since I had a number of eSATA external cases I wanted to be able to continue to make use of them. The best solution was to purchase a PCI SATA card for some extra drives and add this baby to make it easy to plug my cases in. This was cheaper than buying a card with external ports. So for the money, you cannot go wrong. My only issue is the metal bracket could be a tiny bit longer, hence 4 stars and not 5.

I have two of these, and both work well for their intended use.For one of them, however, I needed a longer cable for one connection. I tried to remove one of the cables from the bracket only to find that it was cross-threaded (and removing it would have probably destroyed the connector). I managed to get the other one out, and replace it with the longer cable I needed.Both of them work well even under testing, and other than that one issue, I have been pleased. Typical users probably would never have encountered the problem, but I don't feel right giving a 'perfect' review for a product where I have had problems.

Firstly, the price is right, very affordable. Secondly, it works just as I needed. It is very easy to install, however the system BIOS did not automatically detected the external HDD and I I had to go into the BIOS to set it up. Not the fault of this item but due to an older computer on which it was installed. File transfers were quicker and faster than when the external HDD was connected to USB 2.0. Works like a charm and I'm glad I made the purchase.

Very cool product- I had invested in e-sata years ago and the newer builds for PC's do not included the ports-and I did not want to purchase more HD space when I already had 4 Tb. Newer mother boards are built with many sata ports- ie. Asrock- the drives will mount and dismount on the fly- you do not have to use any special proceedure. for a few bucks I saved alot of $$'s , I may get another one

Feels solid, fits the computer good. Still haven't tried using it yet. Good hardware. Fully meets all expectations. Doesn't exceed any though. Standard plugs standard cables.

Absolutely does what it should. Easy install. No 3rd party drivers or anything. It works and that's all it needs to do. Just remember to always properly eject your drives using the built-in Windows Safely Remove Media before you fo unplugging your docking station.For the untrained on computers, you will still need an externally powered eSATA docking station or enclosure since these are pulling only from the internal SATA connector and not from the power source.

Does what you'd expect.... Nothing really bad to report here unless it simply was a bad cable but it wasn't, so kudos.

Fittings a little loose, but all works good.
