MINKA-AIRECEILING FAN ,White ,44

I was looking for a fan in this size range that moved a lot of air. This one fit those requirements and has a great price. It was fairly easy to install. I have installed a lot of fans over the years and this was the first fan that made the room smell like hot lubricating oil (petroleum smell) for the first couple of hours of operation. Thankfully I have a whole house attic fan that I turned on to clear the house of the smell. My guess it was oil used in assembly. Very little vibration but some. Also the fan pictured on the box is not white so I initially thought they sent the wrong model but there is a label on the box that was checked off for the right color. If the smell didn't go away I was going to return it but it worked out fine after letting it run on high for about 3 hours with the attic fan on and the windows open. I am also operating it with a Lutron TGFSQ-FH-WH wall switch that I bought at the local big box store. Switch was installed after a test run with a regular on-off wall switch.

I have the F100 with integrated led lighting. The light is beginning to flicker so I called the company. I was told it could be the bulb or an internal problem but there was no way to troubleshoot it. It was relatively inexpensive, under $300, and to get an electrician is probably going to cost more than that. In the meantime I am concerned about the hazards of continuing to operate it with a flickering light. Makes a lovely appearance, like that the light is dimmable, however, caveat emptor, if something goes wrong might as well pull it down and buy a new one.

We purchased a brand new Minke fan. I read the reviews that they were top quality , and for our outdoor space I wanted a special look. It was beautiful on our covered deck space. Unfortunately a strong windstorm severed one of the blades. I called the company customer service line and they had an issue about where I purchased the fan. I purchased it new in a sealed box from a "non authorized seller". Therefore they would not replace the fan blade. I got a quote from "an authorized seller" for $125 for 3 new blades, though I only needed the one. I thought the price was beyond ridiculous. For that money they should not be made of crack-able plastic. This company came of as a a bit too full of themselves. Very rude to deal with. What an impression they would have made on us had they done the right thing and sold us the blade, or better yet, covered it. An outdoor fan should be able to stand up to wind in my opinion. I am not a fan. The product as new should be covered regardless of where it was sold.
