## Description

desertcart.com: Wazakura Ikenobo Ikebana Scissors 6.5in, Japanese Black Carbon Steel Shears | Made in Sanjo, Japan, black carbon steel, warabi fern-curl handles that open wide, 45 mm blades, for ikebana and florists : Arts, Crafts & Sewing

Review: Love these - Easy to hold and use.
Review: Excellent scissors for floral arrangements! - I love these flower scissors! The blade quality is excellent. Note that this is not a stainless steel pair of scissors, so needs care. I dry the blades thoroughly after each use to prevent rust and the blade stays sharp. The blade cuts more easily and smoothly than any stainless steel scissors I’ve used and as long as I take care of the blade metal, the scissors stay very sharp for a long time. Initially, it took a few times of use to adjust to the uniqueness of using Japanese-style scissors, yet I love the feel of the scissors in my hand and knowing I’m using scissors designed to create art with my floral arrangements.

## Features

- Ikenobo Ikebana Scissors - The traditional scissors of the Ikenobo school: they open wide to cut thick branches as well as delicate stems.
- Made in Sanjo by 3rd-Generation Artisans - Hand forged in Sanjo, Niigata, a town known since the 17th century for the skill of its blacksmiths and tool makers.
- Warabi Fern-Curl Handles - The classic Ikenobo design: the curled handles open wide for thick stems and can be used to crush the ends of hard stems for better water uptake.
- Size and Specs - 165 x 45 x 24 mm (6.5 x 1.8 x 0.9 in), 45 mm (1.8 in) blades, 150 g (5.3 oz); black carbon steel.
- Clean Cuts for Fresher Flowers - A sharp edge severs stems cleanly instead of crushing them, so flowers drink better and last longer.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice and sharp
*by P***I on July 14, 2024*

I'm an Ikebana teacher. Always need to replace hasami shears after awhile. I wonder if my old ones can be refurbished and sharpened? Mine just get relegated to the garden for pruning....
