91031 Stretch Belt Installation Engine Tool, Compatible with Subaru Impreza Forester Outback 2.5L Engines

Worked for the ac stretch belt on my 08 Subaru Impreza. This seems to be a copy of a tool sold by Gates. It comes with no instructions and is not really intuitive on how to use. Check out the Gates video on youtube on how to use it. I'd post a link but that violates Amazon's policy.

It got the job done. A plus- this was 1/3 the cost of many others that I found. Negative- I had to find instructions on the web on how to use it. It doesn't look to be super heavy duty but I found it strong enough to get the job done. As a home mechanic I don't plan on using it very many times so it should do just fine.

It's a cool tool it worked for my 11 wrx ac belt, I watched a gates video to learn how to use it. You will need a 22mm socket and ratchet to bar subaru engine over to use this cool tool

During first try, the metal piece bent out of shape. I was able to straighten using a vise. After several attempts, I was able to get the belt installed.

It was time to do the stretch belt on my 09 wrx and this made my life so much easier. Took me less than 10 minutes to get the belt on. I highly recommend this to anyone doing their stretch belt on their Subaru.

Worked great to install the self-tensioning drive belt on my Subaru.

For a tool that’s supposed to slip on a belt that can barely stretch, this thing has some rough edges. Had to file it down, and aluminum shavings are bad for your health!
