CNCC152 Cinco Small Christmas Tree Stand
E**.
Perfect replacement.
I bought this to replace a very broken tree stand that I had been trying to use for two years now. This year I said no more playing around and bought this. The tree it’s being used for is only 3 feet tall, but it was always tipping over with the other broken stand. This one kept it in there upright and no problems. You do need to play with it a bit to get the screws where you want to get the tree nice and straight, but that’s part of what you need to do anyway, so no deductions for that. It didn’t take much time to adjust anyway. This is used for a tree you water, but mine is artificial and worked great!

Worked great this year for smaller tree
Initially I was worried about the stand only having three screws vs. standard four. However, it worked just fine for us this year. We get a smaller tree now...about 5-6 ft Noble Fir usually. The only thing that was a bit problematic was the screw nuts meant to go up against the tree trunk. Those fell off right away while trying to adjust everything. I just removed them entirely and tightened the screws into the trunk the old-fashioned way. The other nice thing about this stand is that the diameter is not huge. The larger stands always seem like a tripping hazard to me.

Has performed well
Bought this stand last Christmas because our 7-foot Christmas trees tend to take up more water than our old-style metal stand could hold. The big round base makes it nice and stable; when it's standing on a piece of plastic to protect the carpet, the tree can be moved across the floor if needed by just towing it gently on the plastic. (Try that with one of those cheap metal stands with the four wobbly legs.) The big base does make it harder to cover with a conventional tree skirt as another reviewer noted. The three spikes in the bottom that anchor the tree are short but sharp--watch your fingers! Getting the tree in the stand and centering it hasn't taken long. The reservoir holds enough water to keep the tree well supplied, especially when it's just cut and taking up half a gallon a day, which goes a long way toward my enjoyment of the holidays.

Saved Me From Disaster
I'm a petite single mama who is disastrously attracted to large Christmas trees. Last year I bought a big tree and tried to put it up myself... it landed on me, trapping me against a wall. I had to have my 4-year-old daughter call my aunt for rescue, and since my aunt was unavailable, she called the FIRE DEPARTMENT. Yes, I was humiliated when they showed up expecting to see someone bleeding or on fire, and it was just me wedged against a wall under a tree.Anyway, we almost had an instant replay this year. Me alone again, again a large tree, and I couldn't figure out how to lift it into the stand. Luckily it hadn't fallen on me yet, so I had time to think. With the tree still lying on the floor in its netting, I shoved the stand onto the trunk, and then lifted it up that way, with the stand already on it. From there, it was just a matter of tightening the screws properly.I can't say it's completely right... the trunk is off kilter to one side of the stand and it's not easy to pull it back out because of the spikes on the bottom and the lack of a helper... but it worked. The "handle" aspect makes it so easy to tighten the screws, much unlike my last stand. The little lip on the bottom that someone complained catches needles is actually to catch water if you accidentally overfill it, so it's not a design FLAW, it's a benefit. The only improvement I'd suggest is to have rubberized toppers on the ends of the washers/screws, because when I tightened it, they cut right into the trunk of the tree in all three spots. I'm not sure whether or not that affects the life of the tree, but I imagine it's not good that it's cut like that. The other potential negative is that the screws are high up, not inside the water reservoir like in other models, so you can't really hide the screws with a tree skirt. If your tree has a long trunk and not a lot of branches to hide it on the bottom like mine does, then you may be left with unsightly screws on the bottom.Aside from that, it's a terrific stand that makes life a lot easier, especially if you're trying to do the tree thing alone. The description here said it's for trees up to 7 feet, but the photo said 8 feet, and so did the item itself when it arrived. All in all, if you're thinking of upgrading without breaking the bank, here's your stand.

Love this stand
Love, love, love. Our tree would fall down almost every year in one of these cast iron stands. I couldn't believe it, but the tree stood by itself just on the little spikes in the bottom. Not only stood, but completely straight. We tightened the screws, cut the netting, watered and began to decorate in under 10 minutes. It has been up a week and still straight. I tighten the screws a little each night when I water just in case, but probably wouldn't have to. The overflow channel around the bottom is a cool idea. I didn't realize I had missed the mark until I stuck a finger in by accident. So cool.

Durably designed, easy to set up, and...the tree stays secure
So pleased with this stand. I have a table top tree and after sawing off an inch of the trunk, it still fit perfectly onto three spikes to secure it along with the three L-bolts. My tree is staying upright, even with a pussycat testing it. The stand is well designed, durable, and easy to assemble, and holding up to an 8 foot tree, in a one-gallon water vessel. I will have it in use for many Christmas holidays.

and this has always been a good size. Any taller would probably need a bigger ...
We've been using this for a couple of years for our real Christmas trees. Our trees are always around 6 feet tall, and this has always been a good size. Any taller would probably need a bigger base. My husband fills it up everyday so our tree never dries out. We get the hardier trees (I can't remember what they're called) so they last from right after Thanksgiving to New Year's.

Right Brand, Wrong Product
The last few years, I've had a stand that required additional planks to stabilize the tree. I looked around for a stand so I wouldn't deal with it. I found this, and decided to buy it early for the lowest price. When I opened the box, it was still a Cinco Brand stand, but it was the wrong product. Instantly returned it, but am severely disappointed.
