Amazon Basics 5-Digit Horizontal Combination Padlock, Black, 1-Pack

Does exactly what you want, will it stop someone from getting into your gym locker yea, will it protect a fence idk lol but perfect for the gym or a light locker.

The only thing I didn’t like is the manual and the direction to change number !

This is lock with large numbers as I wanted for outside fence. The only draw back I had was lining up # to unlock it, the complete lock is black and so were the lines on it to line up to unlock it. I could not see them had to get white paint to mark where it lines up to line # up.

I won't bury the headline: You can break the combination on these pretty easily. They seem to suffer from the same flaw as a lot of similar multi-dial locks in that you can decipher the combination by feel. (Search online for "How to Pick 5-Digit Combo Locks" and you'll find videos that detail the procedure.) I had my daughter set a random combination on one of these, and I was able to figure it out in about five minutes using the widely available technique.The body of the lock also feels a bit loose, and my guess is that a sharp rap with a decent hammer would make short work of these. (Not that I'm going to destroy one just to find out.)That said, I bought a pair of these to provide some minimal security on a couple of ammo cans. They're easy to set to a custom combination, and having five digits instead of three or four like some other locks makes it harder for someone to simply brute force the combination by running through all the variations.As such, I'd consider these a good option for keeping small kids out of things they shouldn't touch or as a visual deterrent to make the casual thief move on to the next target, but they're certainly not anything I'd trust for real security.

The locks were replacements for my gym locker. They were easy to set to a combination picked by myself. They have been easy to use and completely reliable. I would purchase them again.

It's bigger than I thought, but manageable. Numbers are large and easily readable, dial action is smooth, clicking on the detents. Changing combination us a breeze.

These locks are so much easier to use than the round spin ones. I also find this shape, with the wider lock, more versatile.

I like to think that my reviews are valid and reliable. I try, to that end, to avoid reviewing something right away after the purchase. I try, instead, to use the product for awhile and then review it from the perspective of some experience. This strategy was important for this Amazonbasics combination padlock. I was, at first, delighted with this lock. The tumblers are marked with large easy to read numbers painted white. The instructions are clear and understandable. Setting the combination was simple and straight forward.The first problem that I noticed after awhile was the lack of highly visible white paint for the hashmark on the body of the lock. I could see the numbers in a garage while wearing sunglasses but I couldn't see where to line them up. It was maddening and I decided to try and paint on the hashmark so that I could see it and lower my review to 4 stars. Still, I felt that this was a good product.The critical problem emerged about a month ago. It became increasingly difficult to unlock even when the tumblers aligned properly. I thought, at first, that the tumblers were not aligned with the hard to see hashmarks. The problem got worse and it was obvious that even with the tumblers exactly set the lock was malfunctioning. The last time that I used this product to lock my bike I thought that I would have to get a bolt cutter to free the bike. I fiddled and jiggled the hasp and eventually the lock released. I didn't dare use it again. This lock is going in the trash where it belongs. The lock did not even last 3 months.I recommend that Amazon remove this product until it can be produced with a more durable design. Once reintroduced, I recommend that the hashmarks on the lock be painted while like the numbers on the tumbler.

It's dead about 2 months from purchased date. Couldn't unlock it this morning and after a couple mins trying it was finally unlocked somehow but can't unlock again once I locked it back. The product was quite alright until it stopped working, the only problem I wanna complain is that you have to keep the correct combination to lock it back, which means if you mess up the combination after you unlocked it by any chance then you can't lock it until you correct the combination. This is not a big deal, but the quality is, no matter how fancy it is you gotta make it last long enough to worth the money we've paid. The Amazonbasics surprised me and owned my trust before but also dispointed me this time.

Esta perfecto esto es lo que buscaba la clave inicial es cero., pero la puedes cambiar ahí en en el manual vienen los detalles muy claros solo es cuestión de leer y comprender bien los detalles del producto.. Like.

I purchased 3 of these. I’m not sure why, but all of them have stopped working. It seems the extra wide shackle makes it hard to pull down straight and the connection gets loose and unable to move in/out straight.Unfortunately, my return window is closed.
