Giro Agilis MIPS Cycling Helmet - Men's

I recently got into bike riding, and had been using one of those cheap $20 helmets. Maybe have done 5 rides total.On a whim, I decided to buy this helmet - figured cheap investment relative to what my head is worth to me. It was super comfortable, and looked really sleek. But the reason I got it is for the mips protection.Anyway, literally my first ride with the helmet was today. Was going way too fast down a steep hill, should have been using the break but was too thrilling. Had a blind turn, got run off the road going pretty high speed. Cut up all over, especially on my face, my wife says I look like two face from batman. Helmet has significant dents on multiple sides. But I walked away with no major injuries, got tested for concussion - doc said might be a minor one, but I did fine on the tests.Feel very lucky. Will be smarter with safety next time.And also, I just reordered the same exact helmet just now.

Had a Giant Rev Comp helmet in size SMALL/MEDIUM with sticker noting weight to be 300g. Felt thick all around. It was designed for oval heads. I get pressure on my temples & more pressure from the earstems.My head is both round in front and flat at back. Learned that Giro is good for my kind of head shape. Bought this to confirm. I'm a believer. Ordered black/red version in SMALL.Sunglasses rest snuggly as shown. Earstems clear the sides much better than my Giant Rev Comp. Didn't feel side pressure the moment putting on. Will take it for a ride to see how the fit of this Giro Agilis...

These helmets have a plastic piece that is used to cradle your head and can be adjusted tighter or loser at the back of the helmet. However, the plastic is very sharp over the top of the ears which, could be a problem as it can cut in. The plastic really should be filed/sanded after the molding process to remove the sharp edge.I'm now used to the helmet and don't cinch it too tight adjusting the plastic up higher away from the ears so all reasonable now.Looks great and keeps my head cool. The front of the helmet has a cloth sweat pad that needs to be ringed out by pushing on the front of the helmet. It can look like it is raining when I do it and I have to clean my glasses.It is very visible in white. Overall, I am happy but I feel the design could be improved on for better comfort.

I have always used either universal-sized bike helmets, or adult male average-sized ones.They've always been fine and seemed to fit okay, depending on the helmet of course. But when I actually measured my head before buying this one I was surprised at the sizing.I honestly thought that my head was of a normal size but apparently it is a bit on the small side.I considered just going with an average size despite their sizing but I am glad that I went with what they recommended for measurements and got the smaller size, which fits my head like a glove, even though I wear a skullcap between my head and the helmet.I am not sure whether this is because it is a high-quality helmet or whether the size is the big factor or whether it is just the perfect design for my particular head.It is the most comfortable, and most secure feeling helmet I have ever had.The MIPS gives me a little peace of mind, as much as can be while riding on the road I guess. And the yellow around the bottom edge makes it very visible.The strap system is pretty standard as far as I can see and works perfectly, no slipping.And the ventilation holes seem to be just the right number.I was able to attach a minimalist helmet mirror with no issue (velcro).Great helmet, I highly recommend it.
