These spoons are so much better for drinking soup/cereal/rice than the metal ones. Not much to say about them that you can't see from the description, but here is a pro/con listPros:-Longer handles. These have slightly longer handles than other spoons with a similar design. Makes it easier to hold-Hooked ends. Prevents spoon from completely dropping into your soup/bowl of liquid-Flanges. Let's you rest your spoon vertically on the rim of your bowlCons:-If you, for some reason, decide to tip your liquid-filled spoon up, the liquid will run into the handle and all over your hands. Don't know why you would do this on purpose.-Sometimes if you're taking giant spoonfuls of food, the little flanges get in the way. Minor inconvenience for people who like eating peanut butter or other sticky foods like this.-Not very great for formal dinner parties. Probably want to stick with those shiny metal spoons.These are good spoons. Buy them if you drink a lot of soup, eat a lot of Asian food, or just like being able to shove as much food as possible into your mouth per spoonful.

Love the spoons, plenty of room for noodles and broth and meat. Hook to the side of the bowl nicely. Def recommend.

I love how these spoons feel in my hands and they are just really nice. Eating Pho, is a pleasure with these spoons. These are better quality than what they use at the majority of restaurants. These are really amazing when you are serving soups. These are larger than traditional American silverware, because they are used by putting the spoon against your mouth, and then tip the contents inside your mouth, you don’t use these like traditional American spoons. So if you are not familiar with this way of eating soup, you might not like these. Used correctly, they are amazing and functional.

A bit smaller than those at my local Thai restaurant. Spoon bowl not as deep, but work well.

These spoons are great and made of thick solid plastic. I have never owned Melamine items, so I was worried the quality might be, not so great. But these are beautiful! And there are several items that match the color on Amazon for a full Japanese set at a cheap price. The spoons are long enough that I have 32 oz melamine bowls and they don't fall in. Even bigger or deeper ramen bowls would make the spoon hook to the side, staying clean for use in your soup thanks to the handy design. They also work as chopstick holders, which is great since I have stainless steal circular ones that roll easily.

Melamine is a form of plastic which is durable and light weight. We just got the oriental spoons last week and enjoyed using them.Serious precautions:I looked up safety issues regarding the use of melanine products with food.(1) Do not microwave.(2) Hand wash melamine with regular dish soap rather than using a dishwasher because of temperature and the dish cleanser acid.(3) Do not use melanine products with acidic foods.Do I recommend these melanine spoons? Absolutely. Just follow the simple precautions as stated above.Why are these precautions necessary? It is the same with all plastics used in our kitchen and dining. Acid and heat break down plastic and cause it to leach into our food. This includes microwaving our foods in plastic containers.When using melanine and any plastic products, the temperature has to be well under 167 degrees F. I advise not taking the risk. Did I know all this before I looked it up this evening? No. I was ignorant of these facts. No wonder we aren't feeling as good as we should. We will be making changes now and throwing out some plastic products that have been used in the microwave and washed in the dishwasher.I hope all this information is helpful.

My family and I love these spoons. They have a beautiful design, but most importantly, make it so much easier to enjoy meals like soup and cereal. I love getting a lot of liquid in my spoon and not having it spill half out on the way to eat it. It also makes it easier for the kids to not spill all over when trying to eat their soup or cereal on their own. Great deal for six quality and functional spoons.

This spoon is far superior to standard Chinese soup spoons. The hook on the end prevents the spoon from sliding into the soup bowl. The notch at the mid-section provides a second point for resting the spoon.
