Is the case easy to clean?

It is. I wipe it down with anti back during my cleaning & put them in the dishwasher when they've been used.

Can the boards be put in the dishwasher?

One of ours emerged from the dishwasher warped today. Won’t lay flat. Manufacturer says dishwasher-safe, so this was unexpected for something so expensive.
