I bought these for my MIL because from the picture they looked like curlers she used to use that she needed more of. The exact ones she used are no longer, but these were a good replacement. They hold well in small sections of hair and works well with her thin hair. They work great for the right curl perm look without the chemicals of a actual perm.

These curlers are made very cheaply. I had to sew the ends with thread to keep the material over the ends of the springs that hold the brush inside. But I liked the size of the curlers. The pins are very cheap as well. They bend right away so they don't hold the curler in very well. My hairdresser was kind enough to give me 20 of her curler pins which are very strong and longer than the ones that came with this set. I guess nothing is made as well as it was 20 years ago. This is especially true about these rollers. I had some old ones that were bigger that are still great after using them for 20 years or more.

I have no words to describe how horrible these rollers are. If I could give a minus 5 that would be my rating. While I was rolling my hair I let some hair slip out so I was going to unroll it and do again but the roller was stuck so tight in my hair that I could not remove it. I had about half of my hair in rollers. I guess the simple thing would have been to just cut them out but I would not have had any hair left as they were stuck all the way up to the scalp. It took me about an hour to carefully unroll them and I lost about half of my hair in the process. It stayed in locked into the brushes. My hair is really fine and thin and I did not really have any to spare. I really hate it that these are sold as rollers for children. I shudder to think what a poor child would have to go through to have the rollers removed. The brushes are very stiff and wicked and latch on to your hair and will not let go. My head is still sore after 2 days. Funny thing though, I ended up taking the brushes out of the rollers so that I could use them because the small rollers are very difficult to find and when I did the brushes just fell off all over the floor. If your hair is short enough to only need about 1 wrap around the roller then maybe you will not have the same bad experience that I did. Just please don't use them on a child. I have used other small brushes in my hair many times with no problem. Also the plastic pins that come with the rollers have little stops about half way up the roller but they do not fit easily through the roller mesh. I could not get it through the mesh at all. Seems kind of pointless since the roller brushes grab your hair so tight that the roller would stay in without a pin anyway.
