These shoes are quite comfortable. If you are new to zero drop, it could take some getting used to, but once you do, that are great!

This is a great shoe. My husband wears them all day for work. They are super comfortable.

I've been into the "barefoot" shoe mode for 8 years. I've tried a few lines. I've been running for years with the Vibram Five's. My heels have been hurting me, to the point where I needed to make a change. Yes, I do love the idea of our feet being in touch with the ground, and having full function, but at the same time we are not living in times of the "old days." I often walk the streets in the suburbs and NYC, and now must "compensate" for this by wearing more protection. I am new to Altra, and have recently purchased the Torin 4 Plush, and these CAYD's. I noticed some complaints. The shoes are extremely comfortable for me, though it took a few days to break in more nicely. There is not a lot of padding in them as some have mentioned, but they are still very comfortable considering I've been wearing barefoot (minimalist) shoes. I do feel the back of heel area. It didn't hurt or bother me much, but as I am writing this, I do feel a little pain there. I might just get those pads that stick to the heel area. Will update this later. WARNING: If you have wider than normal feet, these will not be good for you. Look elsewhere, these are for average width feet. You can wear these with anything. I'd probably give them 5 stars if they addressed the back of the heel better with more padding or something (I've had that on another line shoe); but otherwise, these are really great so far.

I owned Altra Escalante and I loved the wode toe box... these provide the same comfort

i LIKE THE WIDE TOE BOX AND WOULD ORDER PROBABLY A SIZE LARGER, IT IS JUST A DIFFERENT FIT AND FEEL.BUT ALTHOUGH THAT I LIKE ALTRA SHOES, I DO NOT THINK THAT THEIR DURABILITY EQUALS THEIR PRICE. EITHER UP THE QUALITY OR LOWER THE PRICE, THE CONCEPT IS PERFECT.

Altra no longer makes these but they've been my everyday show for a few years now. They're great. Wide toe box has a nice feel. These are zero drop (heel and ball of foot are same distance from ground) but they are cushioned!!! Sometimes zero drop becomes synonymous with bare foot (no cushioning) and I don't like that. These shoes are stylish, good for your feet, and would continue to receive my business if they were still in production. Bring back Cayd!
