nice hardware but firmware can be improved
I bought the Sony SBH20 to replace a Jumbl one whose battery stopped working after 6 months. So, a lot of my comments here are relative to my experience with the Jumbl. Hardware: I like the hardware: nice, compact, thinner than Jumbl, and the metal clip that can rotate 360 degrees is also very nice, compared to Jumbl's plastic clip that is part of the housing. There is one multi-color, small LED that is less intrusive than Jumbl's blue and red LEDs behind the play/pause/answer multi-purpose button. Having a physical sliding power switch is also a plus. Both are charged by micro-USB, both can work while being charged, but Sony's has a little attached cover that can protect the unit from dust, lint, or even water from entering the USB port. I could not get the NFC pairing part to work with an iPhone 6, but that is not really a big issue for me. However, I sometimes press the NFC pairing button by accident and that breaks my current connection... Both SBH20 and Jumbl can pair with two hosts at the same time (e.g., a computer and a phone). The SBH20 by default disables this option but the users manual includes instructions on how to enable it (holding the play button while powering up). I enable it all the time and cannot imagine doing otherwise. The volume buttons are on the side so they are easy to identify and press. However, the rest of the buttons (REW, Play/Pause/Ans, FF) are not separate buttons but soft parts of the housing whose symbols are very hard to see. One might be able to guess REW, P/P/A, and FF would correspond to the left, center, and right buttons, but the rotating clip makes it difficult to tell its orientation. As a result, I often press the wrong buttons... But I suppose I could train myself to know the volume buttons mark the top of the unit and go from there. My issues with the SBH20 is more on the firmware side. Unlike the Jumbl, which causes the Bluetooth icon on top of the iOS screen to show connected state with a battery gauge, the SBH20 does not. I suppose Sony did not implement a profile for the remaining battery level, but instead they use different LED colors on the unit: green means > 90% charged, flashing yellowish orange means >= 10%, while flashing red means < 10%. but the 10-90% of yellowish orange is a very large range and does not allow me to plan as well, as I can't tell how many more hours can I use it before having to recharge. Unlike the Jumbl, which works with Siri (but sluggish: need to hold the button for 1-2 seconds, let go, and wait another 2-3 seconds before Siri responds), the SBH20 does not have a way to bring up Siri. Another thing others have brought it up is that the volume control seems too coarse-grained (7 levels). Both SBH20 and Jumbl work when answering calls. Both include a built-in mic that must be used, and it will ignore your own headphones's built-in microphone. SBH20 can mute a call and switch calls, but it is unclear if Jumbl can do it, and there is no mute on the Jumbl. The range is similar. When you go out of RF range and come back in, the Jumbl seems better at attempting to reconnect, whereas the SBH20 may take a little longer but would still reconnect. SBH20 comes with its a pair of earphones with a shorter cord. I have not really used it yet but it is good to have a spare pair. In conclusion, I like the hardware, which feels very nicely built, but I know they can do the firmware better on the Bluetooth part.

SBH20 Bluetooth
Solution works great. I went the Bluetooth route to provide flexibility to sit in different locations in the room. I only gave it 4 stars. The volume control needs to have smaller volume steps. I have hooked the device to the audio out on the cable box (currently only available audio out). The audio signal is probably a little higher than a phone or tablet. So the lowest volume level on the device is almost too loud. Enjoy it when I need to use it. It solved my issue being able to listen to the TV whole others are sleeping. This device was used with a Bluetooth transmitter by ClearSounds.

Short lifespan but otherwise, AMAZING
I bought one these in January, used the heck out of it almost daily until it died in November. While I admit that that is nowhere near a long enough life span for a product without moving parts, I will say this: I'd buy it twice a year every year anyway because I LOVE IT!! I love being able to put my phone out of harm's way while I garden, wash dishes, scrub the bathtub etc. while still listening to podcasts and music. I feel the short length of cord from ears to device has saved my sanity; back when I had a long line from phone to ears I'd get the darn thing snagged all the time, either violently ripping the buds from my ears or yanking the phone out of my pocket and smashing it on the ground. So frustrating!! But this amazing invention prevents all of that nonsense. Otherwise, it has pretty decent range - I can get nearly 30' away before losing signal. The clip stays clipped to all but the thinnest of fabric and in that case, a single fold usually does the trick to keep the lightweight device attached to me. The sound quality is perfectly fine. And a one or two hour charge gives me power all day.

Low quality.
Low earplugs quality, low sound quality and low mic quality = a waste of money! Pros: Looks good on the picture.

Blown away!
I was looking for a Bluetooth adapter which allows me to use my own headphones, rather than Bluetooth headphones/ear-buds. i have tried two different brands before buying this and i was really disappointed. There is no loss of sound quality and the controls work perfectly. Battery life is long lasting and the ear-buds which come with this are awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to use their own headphones but with Bluetooth, or want to make their car stereo Bluetooth capable. Another great thing is you can use it with anything that has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Instant Bluetooth certification.

Nothing fancy and works for me.
Great product. Just the clip is difficult to use on soft fabrics. Power is good, volume is good, light weight. I mostly use it at the gym and at home with my tablet connecting the SBH20 to the desktop speakers.

Good product, poor customer service.
Loved using these headsets at the gym. Got tired of dropping my phone from being tangled in wires. Unfortunately the headset stopped charging after a month of use. I contacted Sony twice regarding my replacements and I never received support. Its unfortunate because I really like them at the price and convenience but with no support from Sony, I can't recommend in good faith.

Good battery life, quick pairing, does what it should.
PROs: I really enjoy this product. It has lasted me fine for a whole day of work and didn't show a low battery light (actual use: 6-7 hours permitting for lunch, breaks, etc). The pairing is very quick, but can be a bit glitchy when switching between already paired devices which are both in range. CONS: Buttons are very hard to see AND feel. Am guessing which I'm hitting most of the time. Overall, highly recommend for what it does. Bottomline: I will stick to headphones with inline remote controls for the bike (because of the difficulty in feeling the difference between controls on this device), but at the office, its really nice to clip the thing to my shirt and be able to walk around my office without unplugging my headphones.

The product is wonderful. I've turned my car's audio system to Bluetooth comp ability with this. I can receive calls, play music etc., wireless. It has the 3.5 mm output, so you can connect it to your car's audio with aux cable. So, wondering why there is an another cable here? You can use this item to remove that small wire too. The sound is really awesome because it is Sony. The product has the Power ON-OFF button, so you can save battery by turning it to OFF when not in use. Also, your phone gets automatically connected when you enter into the car. I'm able to connect this device with my iPhone. I received this item 2 days earlier. It is shipped with Sony Ear pods, and they work fine too. TechFone is authorized Sony's online seller. So, I didn't have any issues with the item or its packages, everything is perfect.

I needed a stereo headset for attending conference calls and not listen to music. Hence priority was clearly sharp audio, good microphone, battery life and wireless system. I had finalized dell corseca and sbh20. As there are quite a few reviews where dell customers were unhappy with the mic I decided to go for SBH20. The product exceeds expectations on ALL mentioned parameters but since the ear buds are connected by wires its not the most convenient hence I gave one star less.

Excelente producto. Sólo desearía hubiera más colores. Tiene buen alcance. Audio bueno. Sólo falto que tuvieran más colores disponibles. Negro sería el mejor color

Pros : 1. extraordinary bass, treble and mid 2. Plastic quality is too good 3. Headphones are of very good quality 4. Easy pairing 5. Can connect to external speakers with 3.5mm jack and also yo car stereo without bluetooth connectivity No cons noticed but following could have been better 1. Headphone volume could have been a bit more 2. Buttons are difficult to identify since there is no colour differentiation and hard to identify even with touching them while riding the bike
