Great door BUT NO insert
I had purchased the same pet door years ago and through lots of use it finally wore out. Purchased the same one & to my only disappointment this one does not come with the insert to cover the width of the door. See pictures. Other than that, good quality product but only for a very THIN door?

I learned that I had to put a VERY heavy box in front of the door so he couldn't try to take it apart and make good his escape
NO TUNNEL! - I was replacing another Staywell Cat Door, and I was trying to get one with a tunnel. I didn't realize that this one doesn't have a tunnel included. It still fits in the same hole, thank goodness, but since there's no tunnel, my cat was somehow able to reach inside and partially dismantle the door, thus requiring that I take it apart to put it together again properly. And that was just the first night that he was locked in! Apparently, my cat is quite the reverse engineer! I learned that I had to put a VERY heavy box in front of the door so he couldn't try to take it apart and make good his escape. I don't know yet how it works for routine entry/exit

I like how the magnetic seal fits as it does a good job of keeping out the weather. However I wish they had glued the strip to the door as my cat has managed to pry it off since he is a hard head and wishes to pull the door open instead of pushing it. Also with the locking flap ability we can keep him in the house when he needs to go to the vet while the other cat can still get in.

Not impressed
I bought this because the house we moved into already had this exact model but it was old, broken and missing parts. I ordered the exact one to make install easy but it was far from easy. The old one had a tunnel so I had to dismantle this and install the tunnel before installing into the door. The metal clips that the mounting screws go into were lose so they would not stay in place and fell off 3 times while installing. Each time I had to open it up again and reinstall. Once I got it installed I was overjoyed the madness was finally over but then another issue. The red knob is extremely hard to operate. So hard... you need pliers to turn it. I feel like there should be some kind of tool or there is a problem. I took it apart and reinstalled and everything is correct but it’s just not turning easily. I wish I had gotten a newer model or another kind because this thing is just disappointing.

Direct Replacement for older flap
Bought this as a replacement for a damaged Petsafe cat flap that was five plus years old. It was a direct replacement, so it was easy to install.

Brilliant
It was easy for a handy man to in and works brilliantly in letting my cat go in and out at my pleasure. The product also arrived quite quickly, a bonus since I had to leave from Calif. for Africa at the end of July. Thank you.

Stops giraffes
Finally, a catflap that stops giraffes! Our last catflap let in a terrible giraffe but this new one doesn't let in any giraffes at all. We live in a Victorian house with original sash windows so have giraffes everywhere but now we have one less source of giraffes. The cats can get in and out no problem and the locking mechanism is simple to use. They were a bit suspicious at first, but that's cats for you. The opening is smaller than our last fatclap but they soon got used to it. I'm sure that the smaller orifice contributes to stopping the giraffes so I wouldn't call it a design fault.I'm off to enjoy our giraffe free kitchen.

Had two and both of them broke....Rubbish
Its a catflap and the sole design of such an article is to keep cats in, out or let them travel freely. I have had two of these and both fell apart. The first one I thought was just an issue with the unit but because it was out of return time, just bagged another. This time around I saw what actually happened. A cat from someone else's house, had broken through it to get to my cats food. Yep, the very thing that is supposed to stop cats from coming and going didn't.On stripping it down, you can see why. It may as well be made from tissue paper. Even though fitted correctly, as per the instructions. If a cat wants to get through it, with a bit of energy and a good push, it will.So its not fit for purrrrrpose. See what I did there? Made myself laugh after being a few quid down. Note to self, don't buy from this lot again.

5 Star
I bought this to put in a wood board in my sash window as it’s getting a bit gold to leave the window open ...Simple easy to install cat flap ... the magnet is too strong for the kitten to work out he thinks it’s a window but the magnetic strip just unclips so I’ve taken it off while they get used to the in and out then I’ll put it back on.

Catflap without tunnel.
It's an ok catflap, but it's a bit of a con as it should have at least 1 inch of tunnel on the basic catflap and then the bigger tunnel as they have if you need it. They must think all doors are half inch thick...... Crazy. Just another way of getting people to pay more for a tunnel that in my case would have been to long and not needed at all. I had to fill a half inch gap on the outside with silicon mastic so not to get water inside my UPVC door.

Basic, but tough and well-tested design.
A good basic catflap. We bought this to replace an identical one that was 30 years old - and it replaced it exactly (to this is a well tested design!).Based on this and the old flap, it will last as long as you cat will.Obviously there are no clever ways of setting it up to just let in your cat - its pretty basic, with the only plus being that it has a "4-way lock". Not sure how good an idea that is as most cats we have had have not understood idea and practically concussed themselves by running into it full pelt when it is in the locked position. Still, even when that has happened, the flap has survived, so its tough! There is no tunnel with it, so this is really for relatively thin doors.
