SKY Fitted 4/4 Full Size Cello Maple Bridge
I just received my bridge and I was surprised. I expected to have to carve and make adjustments to the bridge to get a finished fit. I was wrong! The feet on the bridge were very smooth. In order to prevent the bridge from slipping I made a few scribe marks parallel to the length of the feet. I then set the bridge in place. The cut of the feet is perfect. I did not have to do any carving. The string spacing is perfect and the installation only took about 15 mins. The tone is somewhat richer. This product is really great, fit, form and tonal results are much better than I expected. This bridge is well worth the money. This bridge fits much better than the bridge that came with my cello,

Great cello bridge!
I bought this for a Cremona student cello. The bridge that came with it originally was too low so the strings were buzzing against fingerboard. This bridge is pre-cut to a standard, complete with string grooves, but because all cellos are different, it may not fit out of the box. I used a piece of sandpaper and a luthier sanding tool to sand the feet to match the curvature of my cello. I shortened the top by a few millimeters to the correct string height and remade the string notches. Now it fits great, and no more buzzing!! In fact, It sounds even better. Cello is more responsive. Shipped fast. Made of good material.

Better than my cheap stock bridge
These were actually not Sky branded bridges, which was was confusing. However, they were better than the one that came with the Viola outfit. These have more curvature, making it easier to bow. They did not have graphite in the grooves though. I had to add it myself. Other than that, these are decent non-customized bridges and was easy to replace.

Great bridge. I bought it to replace the factory ...
Great bridge. I bought it to replace the factory bridge that came on my Mendini violin. It came today, perfect condition. The feet sit perfectly on the violin with no gaps. It is a bit more "solid" than the old bridge and I feel like it has improved the sound a bit. And it has really helped with proper string placement so I'm not constantly battling that D string when what I really want is the A string. Quick delivery, good product, good price.

Impressed with bridge
I was impressed with the bridge it’s a great start . Needed the feet to be fine tuned the feet a little for a great fit , worked on top to get the proper string height . Liked it a lot so ordered another one for my grand son’s cello .

These are NOT "fitted". Beware how they sit on your cello. You need a blank. Not this bridge.
I ordered this bridge to replace the existing bridge on my daughter's cello. It has a chip taken out of it, and the bridge was constantly slipping.Thinking I could do it myself, I researched how to fit a bridge, and found that it was a bit more involved than I had assumed. So I took it to a stringed instrument repair shop near where I live. They maintain the instruments for professionals who play in the Washington D.C. area (including the National Symphony Orchestra), and have highly experienced luthiers on staff. The luthier took one look at this bridge and said that it was unusable on my cello since it was 1) going to be too short 2) not fitted to the cello (which is the work that he does), and could not be fitted to the cello since 3) the thickness of the legs was too thin to possibly carve any more stock out to custom make it fit.I was confused. If all cello tops are different (they are), then how could a company that makes them know what brand cello you have and craft one to fit your particular cello without even laying eyes or hands on it? His answer: "They can't. They mass manufacture these to fit a cello they have chosen, and because they have done that, they can claim that it is "fitted"" - which is exactly what the seller advertises...twice.These are NOT "fitted" bridges - well they are, but fitted to a cello you'll never see. They may fit. They most likely won't fit. The legs won't sit perfectly conformed to the top of your cello. Thus, they most likely won't transmit sound very well, and they will most likely slip. The luthier told me that what is needed is a "blank" - a bridge that has NOT been touched in any way since it will have to be custom carved, by an experienced hand, to fit your particular cello. They match the legs to the cello top. And then they will cut the grooves into the top to hold the strings in place.Unfortunately, I ordered this over the summer thinking I could do the work myself in time for the school year. Now, since I'm beyond the return window, I'm left with a worthless piece of wood that I'll probably use as kindling for my fireplace.Terrible experience. Waste of my time and money.

Requires altering to fit
Pretty nice piece, except that I had to alter it to fit my 4/4 cello - the string height was way too high.

Sounds good
I deepened the string groves, sanded the height of the feet to match my old twisted bridge. I sanded the legs by using sand paper on the violin body. I also took a little off the top of the bridge ridge to get a little bit more volume. The result was a great sound. I am going to a warm climate , I will be interested in how the strings hold their intonation after installing the new bridge.
