STAY AWAY FROM THIS MODEL!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
****UPDATE 7-13-18**** FOR THOSE WHO WANT A WARRANTY REPLACEMENTI checked the manual for warranty, which said 24-month replacement. Manual clearly says to just mail the defective item to the specified address with $3 and they will replace it. I went online to confirm the address was still valid. Their website says to email customer service. I sent all the requested details in an email. Got a reply back VERY quickly, advising me that email is not sufficient. I need to call customer service at 1-800-326-6247 in order to qualify for a warranty. They will need the following information: Your name, address, phone number, model number, and date of purchase. They will provide return mailing instructions once they have created a service notification.I had the box and the charger in front of me when I called, and they were ONLY interested in 1 item besides the model number. They wanted the manufacturer date code. She advised me that it is on the BASE of the charger, and I advised her that there is NO base with this model. She then asked me what I sat it on to charge it. I told her that I plug it in and lay it down. She had a problem with that, insisting that their had to be a base, but needed a date code. I told her the box in my hand says "storage pouch included" and there is no mention of a base anywhere on the box, because there isn't a base. Since there is no base, try checking the wall charger itself, she said. OK, that is on the 3rd floor of my townhouse, and I'm on the 1st floor. Get up there, and the writing on the wall adapter is minuscule. She said to look where the prongs are located. I told her there is no writing on the prongs anywhere. She asked me again, are you sure? VERY! No writing there. Now, she says, look for a 4 digit code. There are tons of codes of both sides of the charger. I will read them out to you. Finally, at the bottom, there was 4 number and 2 letters. She wanted the 4 numbers. Mine are 0217. Guessing it was manufactured in Feb 2017. She advised me based on that date, I was covered under warranty. I told her that may be the date it was manufactured, but not the date I purchased it. I have my receipt from Amazon. I would believe that I should be covered for 2 years from the date of purchase, NOT the date you created it in China. Didn't want to argue about it, but they are covering the replacement. I have to pay to mail it back to them, and also include $3 check or money order. DON'T let them try to charge you more. I told her the included manual clearly states $3, so she said that was fine. She took all my info, and assigned me an case number, which has to be both inside the package as well as outside of the package. If you followed the manual and just mailed it in, my guess would be that you would be out of luck without a case number.I paid $16.95 total in March 2018, weird that the price is now $28.00! DO NOT PAY THAT!Return Postage Cost: $3.05 plus $3.00 return postage - $6.05. Could get a new one that would be here in 2 days for $9.24. Waste of Money!ORIGINAL REVIEW:From the beginning, this model didn't work ANYTHING like my old Conair that almost looked identical. I had it for YEARS, before I plugged it in while visiting New Zealand, and their voltage is different, and it died! So, I loved my old model, and wanted the same one. The difference is I FALSELY ASSumed that if the trimmer were ever low on battery, you could just plug it in and use it! WRONG! Not with this model. It has to charge for 16 hours to use it, and if it's low, plugging it into the wall, does absolutely nothing but turn on a green light. Mind you, that green light never changes color, or turns off when it is fully charged. It's a guessing game! Guess what! This battery, for me, has ALWAYS been pitiful! At first, I just thought maybe I didn't leave it charging long enough, so it took me more than the 30 days Amazon return policy to figure out it had a serious problem! Now, after 3 months of usage, once per week, this will no longer work long enough to even trim my beard 1 time fully. It will die while I am in the middle of trimming. I have left it plugged in for a full 24 hours, then used it, and it STILL dies while trying to trim my beard one time. RIDICULOUS! I have just emailed Conair, who supposedly offers a 24-month warranty. My guess is that they will find an excuse NOT to replace it. I will update my review when I hear back from them, and if the replacement works any better! My recommendation: GET A DIFFERENT MODEL! I will DEFINITELY confirm if a re-chargeable trimmer will work WHILE plugged into the wall, even if the battery is dead. Why can't it run fully while plugged into the wall??? Makes no sense to me! Who would have thought such ridiculousness?!?

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Product page: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002N5N3FE/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_titlePLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW: It gets better...The Ugly: Not the best instructions or pictures. Stand 'set up' instructions poor. Because of design, it's hard to determine which accessories go (and fit) where on stand. Even when I figured out what went where, they didn't fit properly. The instruction sheet picture quality is not good. In order to get a good picture of the stand with all accessories on it, I had to go to conair.com and blow up the picture from the instruction sheet. The Bad: Storage/Charging Stand. Unlike previous Conair multi-trimmers (over prior 18 years I've owned 2), this stand is poorly designed and manufactured. The base should be weighted; it's not. Parts and accessories should fit securely; they don't. Stand should hold parts and accessories as if they were designed as a system; it doesn't. Except for the trimmer body itself, the big beard guide and the oil tube, none of the other accessories really fit the stand properly. If you try to move the filled stand, 2 or 3 items will fall out every time you try to move it. Very poor design. Changing Heads. This could be a little better but isn't really 'bad.' Read the instructions, and you'll find removing the main head isn't very difficult. The [very minor] problem comes in putting the other heads on. Be sure the white 'drive pin' from the trimmer body is aligned with, and fits into the white plastic tube in the attachment before you apply pressure to secure the new head. If you don't, it appears you could risk damaging the plastic components.Fortunately, it gets much better from here. The Good: Trimmer body and accessories. Good RPMs on motor. It does a good job trimming and doesn't seem to bog down in thick or wiry hair. The nose/ear attachment could be just a little longer to reach inside ear/nose. But even as is, the reach is adequate and it does a very decent job, although the cutting tip gets a little warm with prolonged use.The mini- detailing head is great for working around areas of the face with little clearance, and removes hairs well. The shaving foil works well on small areas for clean-ups, but is definitely not intended for full face shaves.Haven't used all the guides and combs, but those I have appear to do what they're intended to do, and satisfactorily.Haven't tried it for bikini type trims, but appears it will do the job, as well. All in all, and excepting the 'charging' stand, it met all my expectations from previous Conairs I've owned. I'd have rated 5* if the stand wasn't so poor.

Not returnable if you open the box it comes in.
I rated it a 3 because it might be fine if you want it for a beard, but but I found the mustache attachment to be a very strange design that did not work for my mustache. Only then did I find out it was non-returnable.

Declining quality or simply first-time luck?
The first one of these that I bought lasted for at least 10 years. I like the product and longevity, so I purchased another when my first one stopped working. This one lasted just 3 years. I use it mainly for cleaning up my neck and around my ears after using a different hair clipper.

Great
Very nice and functional, decent battery life. Can trim beard, neck and around the ears. Also use for those summer buzz cuts.
