despicable me the game for wii
we bought this for my 5yr old son, dallas for his 5th birthday from his gramma. we thought he would really like it cuz he was super into the movie of despicable me & is very excited for despicable me 2 coming out next yr. he doesnt seem to wanna play it very much at all. he played it a few times when he first got it & was super stoked to get it but i think it might be a lil complicated for him to figure out what exactly he has to do one the games. im hoping his is going to eventually start playing it more & understanding what he needs to do on it to advance more in the game. he is usually really quick at figuring out everything about a new game he gets even w/o reading all the instructions before starting so hopefully he will figure it out w/time cuz i dont wanna trade it in yet since he hasnt had it that long or beat the game yet. good luck figuring it all out if you purchase it. i dont think it is a waste of time just think dallas needs more time playing to get the hang of it & start emjoying playing the game. we do looooove the movie & the minions are too cool!

A little complex for a 7 yr old
Got this for my kid's birthday. So far, she likes it OK, but says it is a little hard to figure out a few of the controls, and the little tutorials that show her how to do the moves take too long for her attention span. I didn't realize it said ages 10 and up, so maybe in a year or two, she'll like it better. From what little I messed around with it, it seems like a decent game, with lots of little tasks to do, breaking the game into a series of small steps. She has difficulty figuring out some things, and gets discouraged, which makes me think it is just a little over her head yet. It isn't like she knows what to do and needs to keep trying to get the timing right, she has trouble figuring out what needs to be done sometimes. I don't have that problem, so I think it is more an age issue, than a game issue. When she gets a little older, I think she'll get it, but for now she doesn't play it that much, so I'm giving it an average rating.

it was okay
Some part were stupid, Some were fun & some were annoyingly trick; i played most of it with the volume off, because he kept repeating the same annoying comments & the ending was stupid, At the end you race Vector to the moon while dogging enemies, Then they do the finally cut scene with him getting stuck on the moon, It would have had a more fun ending, if we could shot his ship & blow it up, and then do the final cut scene with his escape pod crash landing on the moon.

Entertaining and kid friendly
Anything relating to Despicable me or a Minion is basically an automatic BUY in this house. My 10 yo loves this game when he gets the chance to play it. I do think the graphics could be cleaner and the minion voices could be crisper and more realistic to the movie but I understand the difference between the software used to generate the movie and the software to design a game is not always equal. My son could care less and just enjoys the elements and missions of the game.

my son loves it
I have a mildly mentally challenged child (man) who is now 26 yrs old, He loves his wii games, he also has an xbox 360 but wii is where it is at now. On his off time, this is one of the games he loves to try to beat.... He talks about different levels. Not only is it fun, but i find it is educational for him, he learns how to focus on one task... he learns to figure things out on his own, he learns how to try different things to see if it works. His eye hand co-ordination used to be very bad, but with the systems he has really improved. Thanks for making it fun to learn...

Fantastic Game!
This is such a great game. We got it for my 6 year old son and he has beat the game probably 5 or 6 times already. I even really enjoy playing it with him. Part of the game is about different levels that you have to pass by overcoming different obstacles. And then some of the game consists of puzzles that you have to try to figure out by using the minions to pass each puzzle. It's really clever. You can't go wrong with this game, I wish they would come out with a second one!

Challenging for the intended audience
I bought this product for my 13 year old sister because she absolutely loves the movie. This game not only contains challenging puzzles, it makes you start over from a check point every single time you are "Hurt". This means that my sister had to re-do certain obstacle courses dozens of times which was incredibly frustrating for her. I will say the only funny part was the commentary the main character made as he was continuously hurt!. She has now stopped playing and will likely not start again for some time....Not a very fun game.

Loved the movie, the game not sure
Not one of the easier games to pick up, even though I loved the movie. Great soundtrack, and the characters are great. Graphics OK. Some of the entry to the game is not intuitive, and easy - not only for kids but grown ups too.
