Review: Must have for home mechanics. - I have 3 versions of the software on mine. 10.29 10.30 and 11.xx i had to use the older 10.29 to clear an airbag fault but other than that it is awesome. The obd2 stuff works on any obd2 car. I have used it to diagnose the fuel cap and the accelerator pedal in a Chevy. Of course i use the obd2 stuff on the Porsche and the extra stuff that is specifically for a Porsche like the headlight position, the airbag, Tiptronic transmission, the transfer case and a lot more. I have actually only used the specific Porsche program to work on the airbag and the reset the service light. It is well worth this cost. You have to have a Windows computer to update the system on their website but really dont see the need to update it. This is essential for anyone that likes to do their own wrenching. Easy to use, packed full of features, and great price. I dont see how anyone can rate it lower than 5 stars. I dont want to sound mean or smug but I have to think they do not know how to use it or maybe they thought it was to tune the engine like they see on the movies. It shows real time readings from every engine sensor you could want and more. Even shows they last time the DTC light was reset so it is essential when buying a used car. In short it does reading and reset of obd2 engine DTC on any obd2 car and does all the extra stuff like airbag, transmission, instrument gauges, and everything else on Porsches.

As soon as it arrived, I anxiously unpackaged the scanner and headed to the garage. The scanner was packaged neatly and in the convenient carrying case. Immediately upon connecting the scanner to the OBD-II port it started booting up. Going to the Porsche folder on the scanner I had access to maintenance interval resets with the push of a few buttons. It was so simple and foolproof. The main reason i purchased this was for the service resets thanks to Porsche requiring a scanner. It’s perfect. I’m unsure where any negative reviews came from on other listing for this same item, as it seems to do everything as described and very simple to navigate. The users scanners that didn’t talk to their Porsche may have needed an update or they were lacking general common sense/knowledge of scanners. I’d highly recommend this for code reading/clearing and service interval resets, saving a trip to the dealer and fees for service reset. The other scanner options are also $300-$3000 so this is the most budget friendly as well. Another star would be added if I could.

A: I did not specifically see that code when I cleared all the codes on my car, but it cleared everything! This may sound crazy, but I think the car ran better after I cleared all the codes. I think it may, I would have to look through it to see. Well worth the investment!

### ⭐ May be a great Porsche diagnostic tool after updating, but the update software doesn't seem to work

I was so excited when I received my iCarsoft POR-II scanner. I take my Porsche 911 (991) to the dealer for most work, but a lot of small maintenance items I do myself. I wanted to reset the intermediate service message, something the POR-II is supposed to be able to do, however after plugging it in to my car it became apparent that the firmware on the tool was really old and lacking the ability to reset the intermediate service message. Not a problem, the POR-II is updatable so I got online trying to find the "serial products update tool". After multiple broken links I found the software. Following the manual I couldn't get past the initial screen where the serial number is requested, the update button would not do anything. I went online to research the issues, some users suggested inserting the TF card before running the application, that allowed the tool to auto load my serial number but once again, clicking the submit/update button did absolutely nothing. I'm sure this is a great tool when updated, but the model/version I received does not work and I can't find a way to update the scanner. Even the the oil reminder reset appears to behave differently, requiring the user to perform several manual actions such as fiddling with the odometer reset button (see photos). I ordered from etailz (shipped by Amazon).
