Fifteen Quiet Years is a celebratory document four years in the making; a repository for all the important Rodan recordings that fans of Rusty have long wished they could unearth. Up from the bowels of a tobacco patch...
If you're considering purchasing a collection of rarities from Rodan, the influential and yet little-known Louisville-based post-hardcore band, then you probably don't need the hard sell. Rodan is awesome. This record has some Peel session recordings and some songs from out of print EPs, plus a lot of live bonus tracks. And it's all fantastic. The letterpress jacket on the vinyl edition is beautiful.

I love this album. Cd and cover were in great shape. I received the cd in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, a great purchase

Better late than never
If you know anything about this band, then you probably don't need to hear it to know you should have it. If you don't, then pop over to the mp3 samples and check them out. It's much better than me trying to describe them, but there is a midwest sensibility and sound to them (like Slint or Shellac), more than a specific era. However, I do think that for someone new to them, Rusty, their album they released while still a going concern, would be a better place to start.

Long Overdue
Contrary to the Amazon description, this is not a reissue of Rusty. It is however a very nice single disc remaster and repackage of all their single and compilation tracks, plus the sole Peel session. I had copies of around half of this stuff already but the sound quality here is as you would expect, far superior. I actually prefer some of this to the material on Rusty. The highlight is the amazing Peel session- probably the best songs they ever recorded and here it sounds better than ever. Worth buying for that alone. There is also a download card for ten live bonus tracks- quality ranging from pretty good to a bit ropey but again worth checking out.The packaging is a rigid and classy looking card foldout affair. I'm not normally a fan of this type of thing but this does look nice. It is frustratingly ineffective at holding the disc though- the simple act of picking it up sends your CD flying out the top and across the room. A curious design flaw.If you're a fan of noisy Slint type stuff, this is a must.

Ganz gut

Wonderful
I'm giving this five stars before I've even received my CD. I've got almost all the tracks on various compilations, singles and CDs but have waited almost 20 years to hear the Peel session again in its proper quality. Superb.
