The gloves came in a nice box and when opened looked as advertised
Ok so I work for an outdoors catering company during the summer season and I have been asked by many individuals to review the products I use. Now I put some serious abuse on my items as I cook and serve thousands over the summer. With that said..The gloves came in a nice box and when opened looked as advertised. I have been looking for a good grill glove to offer wrist protection that could fit my hands.5/29/16. Ok so I put the gloves through the paces this Memorial weekend. Now reminder I have big hands so it took a little effort to get my hand in the glove. The gloves have protective layers so it's like putting on a ski glove.I work with big charcoal grills that put off alot of heat and the gloves worked as discribed. I was able to work the grill surface much longer then I have been able to in the past. Slight down side is you really don't feel the heat, you therefore keep your hand in the hot zone longer and the glove is absorbing the heat energy. When your hand does finally feel the heat it gets hot in the glove fast. Lesson learnedDon't expect to easily take the gloves on and off unless you have small hands. I would put them on for an hour at a time. Hands never got sweaty. I was able to grab the hot grill rack easly and move it aside to restock the charcoal no damage to the glove. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is I wish the thumbs were larger. Other wise safe purchase to make and a good product. I will see what else this company has.

Can't grab meat with them...
These are great for extreme heat, but calling them grill gloves and putting BBQ in the name is misleading. The red part is silicone but is really only there for grip. Most of the surface area (the black part) is high-heat proof but liquid-absorbent material. You get any liquid on these, like boiling hot meat juices, and it soaks right in and burns the crap out of your fingers. (lesson 1)If you want them for being able to handle your meat without tongs, look elsewhere. If you want these to use as oven mitts, or to turn half-burnt firewood then these are the best. They go way up your wrists and protect most of your forearm.Be careful though, they are so heat resistant, you get a false sense of security while wearing them. You forget how hot the items are that you're working with. The silicone portion retains some of the heat it has been protecting you from (for a short while.) I tried to wipe my face after carrying a pan from the oven and lesson 2 was learned very quick...

1 major flaw cause them to fail.
These gloves definitely work in shielding you from heat.I use them in my powder coating shop handling metals that have reached 440o F ( yes 440o - thats not a typo). I can't stand around holding the metal indefinitely but it allows me to do what I need to get done without getting hurt. The biggest reason I don't use them often- when you take them off the lining pulls out along with your hand and its a hassle to get it back in. Enough of a hassle that we rarely use them because of that. if you are only going to use them once in a while and dont mind spending at least 5 minutes pushing the lining back in- go for it.For continuous use they are no good

Wow! A Great pair of gloves --Very good quality.
Wow! Very good quality pair of oven gloves. Can stand very high heat and are very thick too, good quality! At least three layers of protection including 100% Cotton lining on the insides, very cool and comfortable fit. And these gloves protects you up to a good portion of your lower forearm too! Protection almost to your elbow. --Great protection when you are reaching deep inside your oven. Comes in X Large size too, for men who have really large hands and fat fingers too. --ha ha ha ;)

Some of the very best high heat indoor and outdoor kitchen gloves!
These are some of the very best high heat gloves you can buy, not only for the indoor kitchen, but for the outdoor kitchen, and for large fish frys, grill use, smoking meats and sides and large shrimp, crawfish, and Low Country Boils. Use the best high heat gloves and you will not be sorry. Each finger operates independently so these are not mitts but gloves, which is preferred in many instances. Burn your finger or hand once as I did and you'll spring for these high heat gloves together with better protection equipment!

Very excellent heat resistance
Very excellent heat resistance. I've picked up a 500 degree cast iron grill to add more charcoal to my kamado grill but I needed to remove the diffuser plate first. Like the other reviews, don't get the gloves wet when in use. They are dry heat resistant, not steam resistance. My only complaint is the lining for the thumb on both gloves often pulls out a little when removing the gloves, making the next time more difficult to get my thumb in the thumb hole. I've learned to deal with this by making sure I can get my thumb seated before the fingers.

The gloves are thick but easy to pick up things
The gloves are thick but easy to pick up things. Flexibility is not a problem. I found it very safe and easy to pick up a hot grill or deflector stone in my ceramic cooker. I would not want to hold the stone a long time, however, as I began to feel heat after about 10-15 seconds. But the gloves are perfectly adequate for moving hot items from one place to another in a rapid manner. Also picked up grilled corn and hot chicken with no problems.

excellent heat proof gloves
Excellent gloves, and they are the best I ever used. Not sure if they really give protection to 900+ F, since I have never had my oven/grill that high but my hands never got burnt and I always feel confident about using them grabbing things no matter how hot they are. They are truly the best. The only complaint I have is they are one size only and I have small hands and they don't really fit. I use them anyway.
