Britannica All New Kids' Encyclopedia: What We Know & What We Don't

This would be an awesome book for young teens, compared to many other educational kids books I've been combing through as a teacher looking for the best supplemental class materials. Most educational books for kids tend to be too light on text, with oversized visuals and/or too much empty space. This one strikes a great balance between all elements, while giving better info to encourage/inspire kids to look deeper if they are interested. Overall a wonderful general survey of many topics, that will likely encourage folks to dig deeper on their own.

The Britannica, All New Kids' Encyclopedia, is an absolute hit with my nephew! He loves exploring the beautifully illustrated pages with fascinating facts and intriguing questions. It’s both educational and engaging, sparking his curiosity about the world around him. The content is well-organized, making it easy for kids to dive into various topics. The blend of what we know and what we don’t encourages critical thinking. This is a fantastic gift for young learners—I highly recommend it for any curious child!

You NEED this book. Beautiful illustrations on every page and almost 400 pages of content. This book will spark curiosity and learning. Definitely our new favorite book!

I came across this while on the Amazon website and purchased it right away. I am a big believer in books and learning no matter how young you are. I purchased this as a quick and simple reference guide to use with my grandkids as I no longer have the full sets of Britannia and World Book Encyclopedias that we used for our own children. I understand that most information can be found online these days, however, there is nothing like holding a real book in your hands and it can also help children develop their own reading skills and a joy of reading. Have used it abunch of times since getting it and my three year old grandson likes me to show him various things in the book and learning new stuff.

I grew up in a black school system, and while folks tried it seemed like we never got as good of an education as others. As an adult, who's dated a variety of people, I have realized how little we learned as compared. While I have educated myself, there's still a large chunk of essential knowledge I feel I am missing. While it's a bit embarassing as an adult to crack open a book written for children, this book helps me be more aware of the subjects that I am lacking in. The knowledge gaps. You can study this, and then go find out more on the subject on your own. The layouts are a lot cleaner and easier to read as compared to most of the DK books. Which are a nightmare to absorb with their smattering of data. Likewise, they point towards scientist you can look into giving them small blurbs. It's really a wonder-book. I wanted a sort of "all-in one" place to study, as I am a relative minimalist. I also wanted it to be offline, with the option of further online research. When I crack this book open, I go deep diving in my note-taking and learning and it makes me quite happy. Yet again, just wish I didn't feel so freakin' silly over the "kids" in the title. Seriously thought about drawing over it cause it drives me insane! By the by, information always changes so as previously stated do your own research! A lot of this stuff is a great primer though!

The content is excellent. Informative and easy to understand. The cover of my book, however, started to fray after a few months (should mention I live in Hawaii). It doesn't look like it'll fall apart and the pages inside are thick, but it looks older than it should. This is more a heads up than a suggestion not to buy this. I think everyone will benefit from reading this.

It is a great book! My grandson loves it!

My step son is in 3rd grade and he hates reading any kind of book, it’s always a struggle to get him to sit down and focus on reading for more than a few minutes but this book has so far been magic. For the first time he willingly and completely on his own accord, sat down and was reading out of this book. I have also enjoyed reading a lot of the interesting facts this book contains. The book is thick and each page is brightly colored with pictures and diagrams. It also has short readings about each picture on the page, a great way to grab and hold focus on reading. The book is separated into chapters on various subjects instead of alphabetical like a normal encyclopedia. Also, as an added bonus, at the end of each chapter is a quiz! I purchased the hardcover copy and I am thoroughly pleased with the quality of both the cover and the pages. I highly recommend this book and if I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Hello. Sorry, but the current exemplar of this book doesn't match my expectations of a secondhand book.

It is easy for kids to read and explore through the book for common sense knowledge. Nothing else.

My 5 year old has learned so many new things. We read two pages everyday before bed. The book is sturdy and full of great information.

Great book for kids
