This thing works and last buy it.
Purchased 4/2021 it's now 6/2025 yes over 4 years ago still working.NO BATTERY problems. It has fallen 2 or 3 times in storms. I had it on a clothesline close to the fence and the Squirrels could get on it. You can see their teeth marks on it as they spun trying to get the food. It shakes as it spins with them on it and drops food, they did it daily. After it fell the last time I trimmed the tree. I didn't realize it was in the perfect place they have no good jumping spot. So if want no food to go to them install it like this. They can climb down the cain then it's a straight drop to the spinner. Which doesn't shake it much. Yes I feel sorry for my Squirrel buddies and put that launching pad for them. But it's a long leap they don't use it. So i feed them on the ground. In closing the thing works mount it where you can reach it without a ladder. Charge the battery over night but never more than 24 hours. About every 3 months depending on activity. Put red tape on know when it got spun. Lots of fun enjoy.

great entertainment for seniors.
We purchased this feeder 2 1/2 years ago. It was an investment in our home enjoyment. The bird flock to it hanging from a tree, we have 4 feeders and this one constantly gets all the action. The squirrels sit on top of it frustrated knowing they will get knocked off. Young squirrels always take a crack at getting on and sooner than later go for a ride. The wheel has never run out of power, and we never have to take it down except to refill it with seed. Even the deer, racoons attempt to check it out and learn quickly it's for the birds. I highly reccomend buying this for your home entertainment or for a senior who enjoys sitting on the patio enjoying creatures.

Squirrels don't even try
This has worked extremely well so far. The squirrels don't even try. We will see how it holds up to bears and raccoons.

It is squirrel proof!!
This birdfeeder is amazing. It's the 3rd one I've tried this season and it works! Birds can easily get to the seed and when the squirrels try they are SPUN into the yard! I cannot say that anything is wrong with this feeder. It was pricey at $154 but it DOES THE JOB! Thanks for Amazon for carrying this feeder and thanks to the designers for designing what a great device!

Haven't seen it work but
Haven't enjoyed seeing it in action, but apparently it works looking at seed usage, plan on ordering another one this fall.

A pricey bird feeder equipped with a flaccid, slow-charging battery
I really wanted to like this bird feeder. Unfortunately, the product is ruined by an anemic battery that not only ran out of juice after only four days but according to included instructions also requires a whopping fourteen hours (at least) to reach full charge each time. On the positive side, it's super easy to assemble and fill. After charging the battery for just under 20 hours, I was able to get the feeder assembled and set up outdoors within minutes. I hung the feeder on a hooked rod that extends away from my deck by about four feet. Oddly, most squirrels avoided jumping onto the more easily accessible weight sensitive perch and instead climbed up to the top of the feeder to paw and gnaw at the lid of the feeder. Once they reached the top of the feeder, however, they'd lose their nerve, scamper back down the support rod and then leap away from it. After a few days (two of which were recorded on a trail camera) only a couple of squirrels had attempted to grab hold of the perch. Each time they were immediately startled and flung off after triggering the motorized perch.Bottom line: It absolutely functions as intended. But for a product that's nearly $200, it was extremely disappointing to look out and see a squirrel chowing down from a feeder port while dangling from the motionless perch after only a few days. Again, I know from my camera feed that the rotating perch wasn't being repeatedly triggered by squirrels. So I rule that out as a reason the battery depleted within just a few days. Ultimately, I gave the feeder only one star. The motorized perch, I initially thought, justified its high price tag. To realize that that feature only lasts for a short time was very disappointing. To my surprise, there is also no LED on the battery to indicate that it's charging. Nor is there any kind of battery charge status indicator to warn the consumer that the battery is depleted and thus vulnerable to squirrels. In terms of durability, the metal base and top of the bird feeder are tough and should last a long time. IMO, the top should be designed to attach more securely to the main housing. A raccoon could easily dislodge the top and I suspect a determined squirrel could lift it off as well. Unfortunately, I also don’t have much confidence in the strength and durability of the clear plastic chamber that holds the bird seed. I think a thicker plexiglass would make the feeder far less vulnerable to critter damage. So, sadly, I can’t recommend this bird feeder and will be returning it. Again, for the price, imo the battery should last more than a few days, there should be some kind of battery status indicator, the top should fit more securely, and the main plastic tube that holds bird seed should be thicker.

That it is not squirrel proof!!!!
Squirrels emptied mine in less than a day. It seems as long as they can reach it to shake it, they will have to good go at it. I have tried others and they are emptied in minutes. I am going to try to make it unshakeable. At the moment, the unit makes a noise but is not spinning. Will update as to cause.
