Bad first impression
A couple of complaints first.1. No SATA/POWER CABLES IN THE BOX TO CONNECT A 2.5" HDD2. When I attempted (CAREFULLY) to remove the 2 GB SODIMM to install a 4 GB SODIM, one of the plastic retainer arms snapped off. I wound up using a piece of tape to make sure the SODIMM stayed put.So not an auspicious beginning. I made sure to do the first large updates (Build 1511 Upgrade) right away so there would be enough space on the 32 GB boot drive to do them. The little NUC seems peppy enough for everyday computing tasks but is no gaming box by any means. It will do Minecraft, however. If Intel comes through with the cables in prompt fashion, I might bump the review up one star.

Best Basic Low Cost Windows PC
I have just set it up and works very well. Easy set up and love the App interface via BT for alt keyboard and mouse. Does not have lots of extra junk SW which is great. Just the basics and works well. Like the nice compact box. Well thought out and designed.

Missing Cables for SSD and Bluetooth Connectivity Issues
The physical setup was straight-forward but is a missing cable for a SSD and I cannot get the NUC to recognize my bluetooth devices. I have contacted Intel regarding the cable issue and they will be shipping the cable free of charge but there is a one month wait time. I am still looking for a solution for the bluetooth issue. I've re-installed the bluetooth drivers on Intel's site to no avail... Other than these technical issues, I am satisfied with the performance and value of this machine. I think it will make for a great desktop PC once all the kinks are worked out.

Great device at a low price.
I purchased this item a month ago and it is doing the entry level PC job pretty well, you will be required to leverage it by 8Gb RAM and an SSD/HDD if you want to get the most of this box. This machine comes with preinstalled Windows 10 home on internal slow eMMC storage. It was a headache to install Windows 10 on SSD disk that I purchased separately due to uEFI boot enabled in bios. So my tip would be the following: from BIOS disable uEFI boot and enable legacy boot instead + disable internal eMMC, do all this BEFORE reinstalling Windows OS on attached SSD/HDD disk, otherwise your disk will not boot.Note that you will be required to return to its original settings if you want at some point to boot from eMMC (i.e. your original OS installation).Overall the device provides great performance - powerful video streaming and other tasks for home use.

It's a lot of computer for the money
I've known and trusted Intel for decades so I knew that the quality and innovation would be there. I wish that I'd thought a bit more about the 32G. ssd, though..I've doubled the ram (cannibalized from the laptop that I had to replace) and added a 1T Hdd..I'm using the nuc at this moment. I've migrated Windows on to the new Hdd but, my one frustration is that I can't seem to find the right way to eliminate it from the original 32G..so that I can update properly and boot from the new drive..oh well..it's a challenge.

Great little box!
This is a great little computer for $248 that I paid for it. Keep in mind this comes with an entry level processor, the Pentium N3700. Its faster than a Celeron, but still considered entry-level. Also, it only comes with 2gb of RAM, so if you plan to do more than just basic computing (web browsing and word processing) then I recommend you upgrade to 8gb which is very inexpensive. I purchased an 8gb RAM stick for $25! There is only 1 slot for RAM so you won't be adding to the existing 2gb, you'll be replacing it. 8gb is the max the system will take (but that's plenty). 64 bit Windows 10 OS pre-installed. Only 32gb of storage but I added a 512 SSD. Its very easy to add an external hard drive it just slips in to a slot at the top. No experience is necessary to perform this upgrade. Also includes VESA mounting hardware so you can mount the computer to the back of your monitor so it literally takes up no space at all! (See image for illustration) You won't even know its there! This computer is fast, efficient, small, and affordable. It is slightly faster than most entry level processors, and is plenty fast for the price. However if you plan to do a lot resource intensive things like photo/video editing, web site design, gaming etc I may suggest you look elsewhere (like an Intel i5 or i7 or a Mac). But for 75% of the worlds population this computer is more than adequate. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
