Lasts a long time if you keep them clean
Clean the poop and shavings out of these and they will last a long time. I’m very happy with them and so are my chickens!

My girls love these but we go through so many
My chickens love these pads. They have no problems laying on them. But once an egg breaks on them we can't seem to reuse it. I was rinsing the pads out and letting them dry but even after doing that over time they develop mold on the underside. I've switched to reusable rubber pads for now to try to save some money but I think my girls miss these comfy beds. If money wasn't an issue I'd always get these for them and toss them out if the ever broke an egg on them.

These are great.
Keep eggs nice n clean and if your hen has an accident, just waggle the nest over the composter and all the poopy bits will fall right out. This is my second batch of nests. First batch got raggedy after a year. That seems pretty durable to me, considering they are excelsior and kraft paper and under the influence of chicken claws!

Last a while
I like that you can just pull off layers of the hay as it gets use and remove the dirty parts until it gets to the paper. So it kind of like multiple uses in a single pad. I still think it’s a little pricey for but it works, doubt I can find anything better for cheaper.

Weird smell? (Edit)
They're what the page says they are, and I hope my girls like them. Not sure about ease of cleaning yet, but shouldn't be an issue. There is kind of a weird smell to them...i don't know if it's the material they're made of or something else, but right out of the package I noticed it. Will edit this review at a later date with updates!Purchase date: March 1, 2023-8% $21.99List Price: $23.99*Edit: UPDATE 3/30/2023The smell went away after about three days, and my eggs have been considerably cleaner unless someone poops the nest, but that doesn't happen too often. I'm adding a star to my original review. :)

Chickens Don’t Complain
These work great with our simple laying boxes. We don’t need to cut them. Our chickens have no complained and continue to lay a lot of eggs!

Unless you plan on replacing every two weeks…
These were absolutely amazing for the first week, week and a half. They were keeping the eggs super clean and I thought this is it! Soon enough though the hens started ripping them up like hay or straw to make them more comfortable and even then I was still able to kind of make it work because it’s such a thick pad that you can peel off a layer and still have a pretty thick pad.But then came washing time… after 2 weeks they were ripped up and filthy needing a rinse. (Chickens poop when they sleep) so there’s so way around it you plan to replace every two weeks you have to be able to wash it off.Hit it with the hose and it starts to peel away from the paper, like I said they’re pretty thick so if some peels off you still have something to work with but the hose will cause the paper baking to come off the pad and then you have just a pile of ripped up fake hay and it’s not good. They pretty much fell apart. So like I said above, unless you plan on replacing these every 2 weeks or so these are just not a sustainable option. Plus they don’t seem to decompose very quickly (I don’t even know what they’re made of, I should’ve probably looked into that) but it feels like plastic-y) and then it just causes more trash/mess.

Excellent for Nesting Boxes
The chickens like this product. It works well in nesting boxes as a stand-alone filler that the chickens can fluff and snuggle into, or as a padded top layer over straw.Easy to use and clean up. The paper backing is a great feature.Overall: My chickens recommend that you try these nest box pads!
