It is Okay...
I will probably update this once I have seen how well the patch performs. I have a small tear that has worn into the sunroof of my 350Z. While it was not even large enough to let water through, I was concerned with its getting larger, so I thought this would be an economical way to address the problem. the sticky patch is fairly difficult to remove from its paper backing. However, the patch was easily cut to size. While it is clear, and see-through, it is quite noticeably patched. I am hoping as it "cures" that the plastic patch will become more translucent... however, I'm not entirely expecting it to do so. I only used it on the inside of the car because it was so noticeable I didn't want it on the outside where it would clearly stick out like a sore thumb. I am just hoping that it does the job. I got both the "Type A" and the "Type B" patch... as much as the two types are discussed, it is difficult to determine which one really works because some of the reviews indicate the "A" doesn't work too well. Time will tell, and I will update the post. If it does the job, and becomes less noticeable, I will update my rating. As it stands, because it is so difficult to remove from the paper backing, and because it is so darn noticeable, I give it three stars.

Saved me $1000 dollars
I have a 2003 Mustang Gt with a drop top. As we all know, the material will tear and rip with time, weathering, and the use taking the top down and lifting it back up. I had a small tear inside my vehicle, located right above the mirror. The material that was ripped is the actual seal used to keep the mirror in place. If you have a Stang or a drop top, you know what I mean. This tear can cause water to leak inside your car, travel to the pocket inside, and eventually leaking down in the car itself, causing damage to amps, wires, speakers... etc...I wasn't about to spend a grand for a replacment top, so I did the cheap thing and bought some Tear Aid. I was sceptical at first, but I proceeded to buy it. And I must say, it does the job!*The adhesive is powerful*It sticks through rain*It sticks through heat*It can stretch as well*It is a miracle product. It is WAY stronger then Gorilla Tape. At least 10X stronger. I'll put MONEY on it.I have no regrets buying this. Id rather have the hole patched up versus a giant opening being present in my Mustang.I would advise you to keep to Sham-Wows or towels in the pocket below the mirror, just in case some sneaky water drains through. All in all, Tear Aid is my new girlfriend. I'm buying some more, pronto.

Tear repair works
This stuff is super sticky, so make sure where you put it is where you want it. Had a 2 1/2 inch cut in the convertable top. The patch was easy to apply. We have had the car to the car wash 4 times since, and we were not "nice" to the repaired area. It shows no sign of coming loose, and hasn't leaked.Being invisible....now that is a slight stretch, but a new top was about 1700, and it isn't that bad.It has been on the car now for 14 months with 2 times a week trips to the car wash. Not a sign of it loosening.Would I recommend it? Highly.

Time will tell
Very cheap for the quantity you get. Instructions are detailed and easy to understand. Installed on a 350z with a nasty tear about 6 inches long near the seam. Once installed it looks a bit like scotch tape. The adhesive is intense, almost ripped the fingerprints off my fingers during install. I have no doubt it will prevent water from getting through the soft top but will be interesting to see if it sticks when I operate the power top since my tear was along the main seam. If you don't care too much that this product will be visible after install, I would highly recommend it to seal a torn soft top .

Worked Great!
I had a tear in an expensive car cover and decided to try out one of these patches. You really have to take your time applying this patch because once you lay it down that's it, it's not coming off. I carefully smoothed out all of the wrinkles in the cover and applied the patch working on a utility table. It went on very easily and it covered the tear without having to cut the patch, I pressed it down firmly and rolled it with a rolling pin for a few minutes. It is clear and really not very noticeable once it is on, you can hardly notice it unless you are looking for it. I have had the patch on for a few months now and through the summer heat and fall rain it has held up remarkably well and I would highly recommend this fix!

Love stuff that works
Ordered the Tear Aid about 1 month ago. I thought it was very reasonably priced and arrived in less than a week. Purchased to use it on several tears on a Miata convertible top. Appreciated another review about carefully planning placement since the material is very sticky. I did that, and applied patches to both sides fairly easily. Cutting material with X-acto knife on self-healing mat worked well. Rounded corners by cutting around a coin placed at corners. Burnished patch material down well per instructions - which were simple and easy to understand. So far, patch is staying down well. We've had a little heat and a little rain. The test will be 6 months from now, if it's still holding strong. But assuming it will - great patching material at a reasonable price.

Best product yet
We had a hole in our canvas and used this on both sides and it never leaked again. Best product yet for canvases

Sticks but not transparent
The patch seems to hold pretty well (2 wks later), but by no means is this material transparent. It went on cloudy and stayed that way on my dark blue convertible top. I ended up taking the patch off the top of the roof and patched only from the interior to be less visible. Ideally the tear should be patched from both inside and outside, but the patch was so prominent that I'm electing not to do it that way. I do plan on buying more for patching several holes and tears because of its seemingly good holding ability. It would have been a great buy if it really did go on clear like advertised.
