Rage Powersports Apex ER-08208S Heavy Duty SUV Roof Cargo Basket with Wind Fairing

Very well packaged - Excellent build quality, and relatively easy installation!I bought this roof basket for my 2008 Subaru Outback (currently using the factory cross rails - I have Yakima Aero bars on the way), and would highly recommend this for extra carrying capacity.Heavy 1" tubing for the main frame, with 1/2" tubing for rest. Fully welded and powder coated. Once installed, this basket is extremely stable and amazingly robust.Took my Outback on the highway after finishing the install, and there is definitely an increase in overall wind noise (fully expected!), but not enough to be annoying at all.The rack was easy to assemble and install (less then 30 minutes total), and the manufacturer thought the design through enough to include rubber washers for under, and rubber sleeves for over the bolts that hold the two halves together - though I would recommend sealing the joints between the two frame halves with a bit of silicone (and where the bolts for the wind fairing pass through the frame as well) to aid in keeping water out of the frame.All in all I am impressed with this roof basket - it is easily worth the price and is of equal or better quality than many cargo baskets selling at twice the price.I expect to get years of use from it!!

Exceeds expectations. Easy to assemble, as rugged as it looks, quality construction. It's built on one innovative design after another that aren't even advertised. Great waterproofing measures. Clamps are very well put together, solid mounting, haven't thought twice about them after the install and they do not stick up in the cargo area at all. The bolts have little pins in the hex area so only an allen key like the one included can remove the clamps. The wind faring does not need to be used (I'm using it as a surf board rack and the way the cage is lower on the front and rear keeps surfboards, lumber and anything long like that from being able to fall off the sides)I installed it on my 2007 VW Rabbit Coupe. It's as big as one would be able to go on a smaller car like that. When I had ordered it, I was concerned that it would be too big and look silly on the car. It's a bit bold, but is not excessive on that car. I really like the way it looks and have received nothing but compliments. The rack itself would probably appear more native on a full size car, crossover, minivan or medium SUV.I have had no issues with the rack or tying anything down. It's a solid unit, I would not change a thing and if for some reason I needed to buy another roof rack tomorrow, this is one I would buy again. Wouldn't even need to think about it.Oh and the shipping from the seller is amazing. I submitted my order around 3pm and I got an email at 5pm that my order was completed, packaged and already on a truck heading in my direction. Nothing but good things to say about the product and the service.

Really great cargo basket. Easy set up, and will fit on any type of cross bars so I will be able to use when I eventually buy a different vehicle. I recently used it on a camping trip from Denver to Moab, UT. I was a little worried how it would hold up on the highway, but it performed very well even going at speeds around 75mph. I suggest using cam straps rather than racquet straps when it comes to a roof rack. I always seem to see someone's racquet straps laying on the side of the road having either falling off or breaking off.The only problem I had was that the x's on the sides sometimes pop off. I don't know if this is a defect or iff it is just not perfect. I actually lost one while driving. I didn't notice until I had stopped and looked at it. I called discount ramps who is actually the seller of this item (don't use the 1-800 #) The woman I talked to had no problem sending me a replacement piece at no cost to me. I don't usually write reviews but because of the amazing help I received from Discount ramps I figured I would let you know. This rack is really just a much cheaper version than the Rhino rack version.

I purchased this basket for my Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Wagon. Upon receiving the basket it was nicely packaged, easy instructions, and took about an hour to put together and bolt to my Subaru. I have not had the chance to throw all my dive gear in it, but it sure looks really good! Its a solid basket and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a smaller basket. I've had it on my car for about a month and its been raining non stop. So far there are no signs of rust or damage! This Roof Cargo Basket is a practical and attractive addition to my vehicle. It is a sturdy low-profile unit. The black powder coat finish is superb. Assembly is a breeze: slide the two halves together, sink in a few screws and affix the wind fairing using the supplied clamps. The wind fairing is a practical addition. It deflects the wind over the cargo, and I can personalize it with stickers if I choose. Four feet come with the basket and they anchor it securely to my OEM bars. It does not take long to install, but it is wise to have another person help lift the basket into place. I recommend this item to anyone who wants to add utility to their vehicle, and look good doing it!

Started to rust as I gues water got inside the tubing over time...i live in a very wet area. Worls very well until it started leaking rusty water all over my vehicle. The plastic caps also fall off whole driving

I bought this for a 2014 BMW 328xi sport wagon that had Thule Aero blade roof rack bars installed. It was not possible to attach this with the mounting hardware they provided and Rage Powersports was unable to provide me with any solution.
