I used these to repair pulled threads on 3 different used transmissions (all aluminum cases). I was able to repair small threads (m8) all the way up to larger motor mount threads (M14) successfully. These are very strong but you should be careful installing these. The inserts are essentially tightly wound springs, so if you try to force these in you risk pulling the winding apart and ruining the insert.
