I absolutely love the retro look. I also changed my pro controller shell, and that paired with the dock retro plate just takes me back to my childhood memories of Nintendo and the great gaming memories I have had with their games and consoles over the years. Easy install using ExtremePlay's YouTube video. Highly recommend for any Nintendo fan.

Definitely worth it if you're looking to just customize the look of your console

This was a very easy replacement. All the required tools are provided and with the help of YouTube I was done in less than 10 minutes. I love the classic NES look, but if that's not your style the company makes a lot of different options.

As a disclaimer, I went into the whole project blind, didn't look up any teardown guides, but as someone who loves taking things apart just to see how they work, this was a daunting, but educational experience. If you're uncertain with your skills, please seek a repair shop or a friend who can help.With that being said, this plate is probably the easiest of the 3 kits needed to customize your entire console. I also replaced the LEDs and the switch itself.Taking this apart is fairly straightforward. Unlike the other 2 kits, this one does not come with the nice gold multibit tool as shown in my other reviews, get an LED kit if you want one. Work your way inward with the screws and keep track of where they went, they're different sizes.Be sure to slide off the inner panels from your old dock and put them in here. The tolerances of mine were just slightly off and I had to push in the carriage harder and upward for it to drop in, but at this point it was my first step so I was being super careful.Do note though, if you got a Switch like the animal crossing one that uses a different color carriage, this kit will not replace that. So I have a black front panel but a white carriage and back door. This isn't a problem for me, but something to be mindful of if you do have a special one.When doing an entire kit, this is a good starting step to get used to how the tools and disassembly works.I have reviews for the other components of this kit, just find my pictures in the Amazon Rolodex and you'll find them easily!

The material feels quite nice, rather smooth and soft. It's a bit fiddly trying to install it as there are many screws, however the screwdrivers are provided. The install also involves unplugging and replugging a delicate ribbon cable, and unhooking and rebooking the power light led power connector, which I'm always wary about messing with. I spent a good chunk of my night messing with it however I'm somewhat all thumbs and impulsive with fine motor skills oriented things like this. The finished product looks nice on my wooden entertainment stand.

Following the video, this was about 90% easy to install. The most difficult part was sliding the dock's bottom "shelf" charging spot back into place, which comes after sliding the inner-back plate up in the new faceplate. The new faceplate was just a millimeter off of being flush like the original part. I solved this by using an exacto knife and slicing off a very thin strip of plastic from the inner-top ridge of the new faceplate, which gave just enough clearance for everything to slide back in place. The dock looks really sharp now!

Once again another product from eXtremerate that I've been extremely happy with! It was easy to install and follow their YouTube video! My love letter to my childhood is complete! I would highly recommend getting ifixit tools or other tools as the quality of the included tools while not the worst could strip the screws and the included screws help negate that a bit too replace them but i like keeping factory spec parts.

So I bought this replacement case for my switch dock thinking it was going to be a breeze but it was a bit more involved then I thought so buyer beware; it isn't just a matter of removing a few screws. I recommend youtubing how to take the case apart and you should be good.That being said I love this new refresh I just gave my switch, it actually stands out and makes me want to play it a lot more now since it doesn't just blend into the background anymore. The faceplate is very detailed and the plastic seems to be of good quality although admittedly not as rigid as the factory Nintendo cover. I love that the company provides replacement Philliphead screws to replace the Nintendo's tri-tip screws as well as the both screw drivers to remove the old ones and add the new ones.My only concern is that the plastic has that soft touch feel that we gamers know all too well doesn't hold up, I'll definitely keep my eye on it but the company does provide a one-year warranty so I'm definitely using it if the plastic starts to peel or strip.P.S. I'll be reviewing the controller housings as well so keep on the lookout for that.

Perfect match for the Extremerate SNES-style Switch shell. Looks absolutely fantastic and adds a personalised touch to your system. It's fairly easy to fit, being easier than the accompanying shell for the system and joycons but not as easy as you might expect. The whole thing needs to be taken apart, it doesn't just click on. Again, take your time and follow a decent YouTube tutorial. Really, it's hard to go wrong here unless you are especially heavy-handed. Get this and get the matching shell for the console and joycons. It's a great combo!

10/10 would recommend, and I will definitely be buying from them again.Made my pro controller with white buttons and pink casings, and did the same thing to the actual switch console. So I had to get the pink faceplate to complete the look and it looks amazing, their quality of products is super good.The faceplate was by far the easiest thing to install.
