Gluten free, great for soup
My go-to pasta. I’m celiac and nothing will be quite like durum semolina pasta, but.It has a long cooking time, fifteen minutes, but if you can’t get it off the heat immediately it will take a few minutes over and still be good.Nice firm pasta feel, not weirdly soft and hard at the same time. Not overly al-dente or mushy for only choices for done. Also corn-free. Just brown rice. No quinoa or amaranth, some have issues with those. To make soup I cook the other ingredients separately, then add to the pasta after that is cooked, then finish seasoning and serve. Reheating individual portions n microwave, it will hold up, if eaten within one day of making. Will absorb broth while standing or refrigerated and reheated will be soft and plump texture, more like soft dumpling.I buy by the case because more economical and nice to have on hand. It does take well to being cooked, drained, tomato sauce dressed and served as Italian style pasta. Reheating it goes soft.

THE best non-wheat pasta IMO, and a great way to get it :)
- These were a bit more expensive than the grocery, but the only grocery which sells them is a 20 to 25 minute drive from my home, AND these were packed in such a way that **almost all of the noodles were whole** !!! -- Usually, when I got them in the store, about 20% of the pasta broken into tiny bits - but *these* arrived 95% whole! A very few noodles were broken and even at that, they were maybe in half, not the little crumbs I was getting in the grocery-store packages.- Tinkyada is in my opinion THE best non-wheat pasta, period. And I've tried a lot, because I have a wheat allergy, and to a somewhat lesser extent, a corn allergy. I won't tell you that these are "just like" wheat pasta, but I will say that, in texture, flavor, and versatility, Tnkyada Pasta Joy is as close as I've experienced. Most importantly, in and of themselves, and apart from use as a "substitute", these are just delicious and nicely-textured just for themselves, and work well in dishes where wheat doesn't quite work. So I think they're a nice thing to have around as a change, even if you *don't* need wheat-free or gluten-free, because they are just plain yummy :)- And they are BROWN rice, so you get the fiber and so on :)- So, yes, a box/case is a lot - 12 one-pound bags. But these are so versatile that they disappear quickly ;)-

WAY better than 'regular' pasta!
I very rarely come on to write a review immediately after receiving a product, but in this case, that's what I'm a-gonna do.My son, just recently diagnosed celiac, is having a hard time saying goodbye to so many favorite foods (especially being vegetarian...SUCH a challenge!) We tried the gf Bisquick, which turned out a bit grainy (might let the batter rest next time to let the rice flour absorb water, might work). But I digress. These noodles are AWEsome! My daughter cooked up a pot of them last night, just like regular pasta, according to the package directions (no special treatment other than slightly longer boiling time...and add a few Celifibr vegetarian chicken bouillon cubes to the water, like with all pasta, etc--mmm). I'm not joshing in the SLIGHTEST when I say I like these better than regular pasta! They have a smooth feel in the mouth, and a nice, not-crunchy-at-all bite! And NOT mushy AT ALL (my PET PEEVE with even slightly overcooked wheat pasta).I can't wait to put these into pasta salad! And I'll bet they wouldn't get soggy in soup, even leftovers in the fridge for a day or two. My daughter always liked to make a big pot and put away the leftovers for easy warm-up lunches and dinners...but the noodles always got soggy by the second day, so she got out of the habit. Bet it'd be just fine with these rice noodles. I think their clever/extra-healthy addition of the extra rice bran is wherein the magic lies.To paraphrase: WE LOVE THEM!!! I'm SO glad I got the 12-pack! If you're a fan of perfectly-cooked regular pasta, you will NOT be disappointed in these!

fav gluten free pasta
tried so many gf pasta's for years & this is my fav. its tastes very good to me. i do boil it to my personal taste. i have found after straining it i try to dry the pasta as much as possible. occasionally i laid it out on clean towels, certainly not necessary but it tastes better in cassaroles and lasts plain in fridge longer . its still good just boiled and eaten as instructions on pkg state

Love This Pasta!
This is great pasta. Great taste and good for you. Recommendation: watch closely as it cooks to get the feel for how fast it finishes. I overcooked the first time. This is perfect cooked aldante.

Boo, hiss
They changed the recipe and now it turns to mush. Very disappointing.
