This thing actually works great and looks great! We have very think carpet and I’ve tried those ugly plastic chair mats with them not lasting well. We even went without anything for a long time, but that ends up ruining your carpet pad. We’ve had this under our office chair for about 3 months now and have had no issues. I was worried it would have an annoying edge being thick, but that hasn’t been a problem at all. This thing is awesome, just wish the price point was lower, but it’s been worth it!Edit: My hubby is the one that uses is it all day working from home and he's over 300lbs. No problems.

Likes:- Perfectly constructed, solid material with tiny non slip markers on the bottom- A decent list of styles to choose from- Item comes folded in half, not rolled up and lays absolutely flat out of the box- They way its constructed I think one could put multiple mats together to make a larger one- Chair rolls flawlessly on itSuggested Improvements:- Wish they came in various sizes- Need more stylesI will be ordering 1 or 2 more mats very soon.

I was looking high and low to get a firm rug to fit under my desk and chair. This one is perfect. It is not fully a rug and not fully a mat. It’s a combination of both. I did not want those plastic ones that roll up. The chair rolls perfectly on it.This looks great and is the perfect size for what I needed. I attached a picture. Love love love this!!!!!

I don't normally write a lot of product reviews (or answer surveys); however, this product warrants a review. I received it yesterday and unpacked it today and put it in place. The chair rolls smoothly on the surface, it looks good, and I get the added advantage of an extra 1/2" of height. Granted, I could have done that with my chair as well, but the mat height along with chair settings puts me in a comfortable position for my desk and my legs. I've already been recommending it to friends and relatives. The selection of colors and patterns is really good as well, so there should be something for just about anyone's tastes/styles. If I could do 4.5 stars, I would, but only because I wish it were 6" wider. If the dimensions were 42" x "54, it would be completely perfect (hint, hint to the manufacturer)!

This is the best mat I have ever had for my office chair. The plastic one I had before was like a skating rink. My chair would slide out from under me. This chair mat rug has just the right amount of traction. I can easily roll my chair just the right amount. And it looks great! Would buy it again. The color is true to what it looks like on the web page. I bought the blue Maldives pattern, 1/4 inch thick for low pile carpets and hard surfaces. I am using it over a low pile carpet and it works great.

As great as it seems so far, it's so expensive. I hope it lasts several years at least. I went with 1/2" because I have it on carpet. I was skeptical about the piece having a fold in it, but it hasn't been noticeable so far. My chair rolls nicely on it, but there's still a decent amount of friction to minimize unintentional chair roll. It's nice that the mat looks more like a throw rug than a weird shiny (and likely cracked) piece of plastic.I wish it had larger dimensions for the price. Rolling chairs tend to have large wheel bases, so you may find a wheel or two rolls off the mat occasionally. I decided to turn the mat longways so I have more room in front and behind. I don't roll sideways that much.

This rug is perfect for protecting my home's wood floor from the wheels of my desk chair. It's the right size, doesn't slide around, and feels great when I choose to go barefoot. I like that it easily folds up when I wish to move it. Wish I had known about these years ago!

I’m using this in my home office. I wanted something (the same as everyone) that was practical AND nice looking. This is perfect. I searched for a long time for something that wasn’t one of those ugly plastic mats. I have this mat sitting on medium pile carpet and I have no problems rolling. If I HAD to nit pick at something, I would have liked for it to be a little bigger, but overall I love it.
