Bewildered at issues from others, just bought these in August of 2024, and couldn’t be easier.
I’m thinking the old version was not so good, but the ones I just received, after following the directions, molded tightly to both my upper and lower teeth, and actually make a suction sound when removing? I followed the time directions, (3-5 seconds), boiled water, took the pan off the heat, dunked em in and I went closer to 5 seconds, which you actually see these get a tiny bit smaller at 4-5 seconds, and that when I whipped them out and stuck into my mouth, follow by creating a suction, pulling these right into my teeth, and roof of mouth (top), and pushed with my tongue on bottom. Did the bottoms the same way, re boiled water, took off heat dunked, inserted and sucked, Simple, 2 minutes for top and bottom and I was done! Never had dentist molded trays, but my experience with these this time was outstanding! I have to only guess as why so many people had issues was the older design. Again it was easy peasey…I don’t leave many reviews, but had to here as my trays worked great! Good luck!

Make a perfect and well fitting mold by using a casting of your teeth.
The instructions for shaping the trays to fit your teeth, that come with the trays, are insufficient without reading the instructions provided by several reviewers. These clever DIYers have more than compensated for the manufacturer's deficiency. That being said, after ruining one tray, I reread the comments and have a few fail proof suggestions that can help those who follow us in this great adventure. Ready? Consider the following!Plaster teeth molds from the dentist! Yes, that is what I used to make a PERFECTLY fitting pair of trays! More than one review I read mentioned the reason for purchasing these trays was because, "One of the trays that were purchased from my dentist to make teeth whitening trays, (at great expense), was missing." If this situation applies to you, and you were given (and still have) the plaster molds of your teeth used to make the original tray(s), skip section; "A-If you have not purchased a casting of your teeth or tossed the ones you had," procede to section; "B-You saved them (and know where they are)!"A-If you dont have any [plaster teeth]: You can either stop here and follow the instructions from other reviwers, or make a casting of your teeth with the following; a plaster of paris kit or a 2 part mold putty kit to make a mold of your teeth. As well as a 2 part epoxy foodsafe silicone kit to cast the teeth.Procede to B-You [made] them!B-You have them!Gather the following items;-Plaster castings of your teeth-Two, one yard lengths of string or yarn-A pan large enough for boiling 3 to 4 cups of water-Two pinch type clothspins or suitable alternativeProceed to; "C-This is Genius and so cool!"C-Lets make some whitening trays!Instruction: examine the molds of your teeth. Both the upper and lower castings should be shaped like the letter, "U." (Roughly matching the shape of the plastic trays included in the kit.) If not, you will need to:1-trim the castings, perhaps removing the center so that both the upper and lower casting are the same shape as the plastic trays included in your package.2-Cut the tab off of 2 of the 4 trays.3-Place one tray on the casting of your upper teeth. Tie the string near the center of the teeth. Beginning at the center, wrapp the string around the tray and teeth repeatedly creating a close fit. Move from the center, toward one end of the mold. When you reach the end, reverse direction and wrap closely, over the loops already created. Continue toward the other end of the mold. Reverse direction again and finish by wrapping back toward the center. Tie it off at the center. You should have used all of the string except a few inches. (Do not use less than 3 feet of string. Attach additional string if necessary.)4-Repeat the process for the wrapping the other set of teeth.5-Attach a closepin to the short string hanging from the center of the wrapped casting of your teeth.6-Add water to the pan and bring the water to a full rolling boil. The process moves rapidly from this moment forwars. Be sure to read all of the instructions before proceding.7-Holding the attached clothspin, lower the wrapped teeth into the water. Continue to hold the clothspin. Do not allow the wrapped casting to touch the bottom or sides of the pan. Allow them to remain submerged for not more than 4 seconds. Then raise it out of the water.8-The string wrapped mold and tray will cool to the touch almost immediately. While the tray is still warm, using both hands, apply pressure by pinching the tray against the mold. Start in the center and work outward. The tray should still be somewhat flexable at this point.9-If the whitening tray is not flexable, grasp the clothspin and dip the tray into the water again for a few seconds. Be sure to remove it from the water immediately if you notice the mold shrinking. Repeat #810-Hang the wrapped casting by attaching the closepin to a firm object. Allow the tray to cool for 45 minutes to an hour before unwrapping the casting.11-After 45 to 60 min., unwrap both castings. Try them on your teeth to check the fit. Trim the upper tray if necessary to improve the fit, if the tray is pushing against the roof of your mouth.Great Job!

Thick and heavy duty
New and improved? They may need to look into that. I tried using this as a substitute for my bleach trays, but it was clear within seconds that it was not gonna work out. It had more of a mouth guard vibe to it. Thicc with two c’s.

OK I'll admit it: These ARE annoying to fit!!!
I was pretty weirded out by the reviews that stated how difficult these are to fit. I had them in a drawer for a couple of weeks and didn't want to try it!!! So today I tried it, because I actually felt like I could be brave (gheesh, I really need to push my boundaries more), and put a pot of water on the stove to boil. Then I dunked them in for 7 seconds each. The first tray wasn't so bad. It worked great and wasn't a super tight fit, but it's fine for what I need it for.The second tray got smooshed down and flattened where my molars are LOL and I had to actually get an X-Acto knife to cut the fused pieces together. Then I re-dipped it in boiling water and it worked. I actually had to press the squashed side to my teeth with my tongue while it cooled while it molded to my teeth again. So both trays are fine now, and will work for what they're intended to do.So these will not mold to your teeth so much that they actually catch every detail, but they do shrink down enough that they'll keep whitening gel inside of them. And when you dip them, grab the little handle with a pair of tongs, and count the seconds out (unless you have a clock or watch w/a second hand), take them out right away and stick them in your mouth. Wait a minute while they cool down and you're all set.

Not worth the money
I felt it was time to replace my old trays. I ordered these and they are very difficult to use. One second too long in the water and they are gone, literally shrunk to the point of being useless. If you take them out a tad early, they are very difficult to form to your teeth. Spend a little more money and get a little better product

Easy to Form
I followed the instructions and was careful with the timing. I've had trays in the past that would not mold properly and never fit well, but I probably didn't follow the timing, if they had instructions. The directions on these trays are clear and they work if you follow them. I got it right the first try and my tray fits well, but if you don't get it quite right the first time... there are four of them in the package! Definitely a good buy.
