A great way to save those little handprints
I have the Handprints Tower of Time kit in pastels from my son who is now 3 years old. Every year on his birthday we do his handprint. We love having that little handprint and seeing how it gets bigger every year and he gets a kick out of putting his hand over the ones from when he was younger. So, when we had a little girl last year I knew we had to get a kit for her as well. I got the pink set so we could easily differentiate them down the road. She is only 6 months so we haven’t used it yet, but we will every year as she grows just like her brother. The process can be a bit tricky, especially when they are little and don’t know how to hold their hands just right and still but you can try and try again until you get it right. And, if it still doesn’t turn out right, you can get replacement material to try again. I had this happen once and I was able to go online and request the free replacement. I think I just paid a few dollars in shipping. And the results are definitely worth the effort - priceless!

I just hope it looks better after the first year
The directions call for 1/4 cup and I found it was too much, as I mixed powder came up the sides and it never reached that firm of a consistency. My daughters print looks very messy but I didn't try to get it perfect cause she's 1 and hates the feel of anything sticky on her hands.

Not happy!
I'll never buy this type of product again. I've used the clay type before where you just roll it out take the hand/foot print of the child and let it dry for 48 hours. Much much better than this!!! Between adding the contents and stirring - not knowing how much to add but was instructed to not add all of it - then waiting for a proper consistency with the stirring and when I finally went over to get my child's hand print it was rock solid! I have to go buy another imprint kit now! What a waste of money!!! Definitely get the clay type - so much easier - so much better!!!

Problematic
It's easy to mix the plaster, but hard to tell when the right time is to have the child put their hand in. It seemed to set either too slowly or too quickly. It's quite hard getting a 1 or 2 year old to press their hand into the plaster properly, but that's not the product's failure. One thing I must stress is that you make sure to let the plaster dry completely before putting the tin lid on. I put the lid on before it was completely cured and ended up with black mold growing on the underside of the lid.All in all, I find the moldable clay kits much easier to work with, less messy, and they give you more chances for a successful print.

a few things I would change
The stacking container is really cute, but it was slightly more difficult than I thought it should have been to get a decent handprint out of it. Also, maybe I didn't read the product description closely enough but the smallest size says "1 year" on it, and I was hoping to use it when my daughter was younger (in fact, I did use it when she was 9 months because her hand was barely big enough to fit in the "1 year" container at the time). I wish that instead there had been a label for the parent to write the date/age of child when the handprint was taken, instead of being prelabeled with 1 year 2 year and so on.

Fun method to capture memory
Fun and mostly easy way to make hand prints. I bought this for a mother's day present to capture our daughter's hand prints for the first 5 years. Its very easy to prepare and use -- however my daughter was not keen on putting her hand in the mixture. The good thing is that the product did not set too quickly so we were able to re-try the print multiple times before getting one that was sufficient.

Love it
I got these for my older daughter as a gift, and bought them for my younger one as well. Easy to use. You can try multiple times until you have the desired print, and then it dries over night. The tower looks super cute and my daughter loves to look at the previous years every year.

Perfect!
My husband is a mason so he mixes the "mix". I bought 1 for my 2 year old son and my 1 year old daughter. They are so perfect! It starts out really watery but you just need to wait until it's hard enough to hold the handprint. I can't wait to give these to my children when they are older so they can appreciate them!
